Restore Partition failed

I backed up a Win10 System Partition on my dual boot system and restored it to the same harddisk (partition location changed).

It successfully boots, but I do not see any login, but only a black screen with the mouse-pointer visible.

the "funny" part is, that obviously the system is kind of running in the background, as I even can connect via teamviewer (well, I also only see the black screen with the mousepointer in the remote session), but this proves, that network and even teamviewer-service is running...

any idea, what I can do?

How to merge non-adjacent partitions when the partition to be merged is un-allocated (Windows 7)

According to the AOMEI instructions,  I am supposed to right click the partition to be merged and select Delete.  For my case this partition is un-allocated.  Are these instructions still the steps I should use?

Even though technical support says they have reset my license code,  the same license code is reissued to me and the same error code appears (Invalid license code) when I try to register.

Clone HDD will not boot

I am trying to use AOEMI Backupper to create a bootable hard drive by cloning a bootable hard drive.  I have an internal 40 GB IDE HDD that I want to clone to another internal 40 GB IDE HDD so that the second drive is bootable (like the first drive is).  I have the source and target hard drives connected via external enclosures to a PC running Windows 7 and Backupper Standard 4.0.6.  (This is not the PC where the source HDD is normally installed.  I am only using this other PC in order to perform the clone operation.)  In Backupper I have used the Disk Clone function in the Clone tab.

Backupper completes the clone operation successfully.  The target drive mounts in Windows and I can see all the files that were cloned from the source drive.  However, when I install the target drive in the original PC, that PC will not boot.  On screen I see a message that says "Insert a system disk and press any key" (or something like that).

On my first clone attempt, I did not choose the Sector by Sector option in the Disk Clone.  I made a second clone attempt and I did choose the Sector by Sector option.  Backupper also completed my second clone attempt successfully.  Unfortunately, the second clone attempt would not boot the original PC either.

What am I missing?  Thanks in advance.

Partition Assistant Standard - extending partition failed

$

Hello everyone,

today I used the free version of the partition assistant to extend the Windows partition C: with non-allocated space on the hard drive. Because there was a recovery partition located between C: and the non-allocated partition, the first operation was to move the recovery partition to the end of the non-allocated space. Operation two was to extend partition C.

However, afterwards Windows has not been able to boot anymore. I got a blue screen and error code 0xc0000225. Starting windows recovery/repair from a Windows boot medium was not working either.

When booting from USB, I also used the command prompt and the mini-explorer/notepad to check the hard drive and potentially save files. However, while C: exhibits the correct size it was supposed to after the extension, all folders are empty.

I appreciate, if anyone has an advide in that matter. It looks like all the data files are lost, even though the flders are there. I have no idea what went wrong during the process. I would be glad to at least recover the data and do a fresh install afterwards.

Computer Crash (Windows 10) on Update

I recently (12/11/20) purchased Aomei Backupper Professional, downloaded it, and had it run back ups which seemed to work well until about 12/20/20 (about 9 days).  Around 1a/20 or a day or two after, I got a notification that there was an update and clicked to install the update.  Nothing much happened, but it did wipe out the Backupper Professional program.  When I looked in the program files it was no longer there.  So, I re-booted and got the Blue Screen of Death.  Nothing that I could do would bring the computer back to life.  I had to have a computer specialist bring the computer back to life (wiping out all programs,so incurred significant expense and had to start from scratch to reload all other programs).  Now, I am hesitant to reload Backupper Professional.

Is it safe to do that?

Have others had similar experiences?

Is it best just not to take the chance and write it off as a bad experience?

I liked the program while it worked but obviously, at this point, without some assurance it won't happen again, the risks are just too great.

System backup fails with error code 4121 Unknown file system

When I try to make a system backup, I get the error message seen in the subject line.

I've already ran chkdsk /r during boot as well as checked the disk in Windows 10. No issues reported.

My system partition is a 200 GB NTFS partition on a basic 2 TB disk.

The operation already being cancelled - error

I have an installation of centralized backupper and one of the agents is running on a server 2019.
System backup works fine but when it is time to run a scheduled full disk backup i get a "The operation already being cancelled" message.
Worst, and most unacceptable of all, is that this causes the win2019 to restart every time.
I have install and unistall the agent multiple times but there is no solution.
Scheduled system backup works but this disk backup (mostly users files) force the machine to restart
Very disappointing behavior from the software

Does AOMEI Centralized agent use any SQL lite in installation?

Does AOMEI Centralized agent use any SQL lite in installation such as Veeam?  I ask because the Veeam agent crashed a major manufacturing CNC machine for me.  AOMEI worked great!

Can you believe it?  I used my AOMEI backup to recover a Veeam install crashing the entire CNC machine, LOL.

Since AOMEI has worked so well for us for years, I am thinking of getting the Centralized backup solution.

Thanks for a great product.

Backupper Pro 6.2 crashing Win10 machine when copying files from mounted 'explore image'

Trying to restore files from a mounted (explored) incremental backup image using v6.2 of Backupper Pro.
adi Images reside on an external USB 3 Seagate Backup Unit.
Incremental Image has successfully passed the image check 100% no errors.
Copying small handfuls of files can sometimes succeed however increasing this to multiple folders will lockup|crash|reboot the Windows 10 Pro x64 (20H2) desktop.
Files have been attempted to be file copied to two different internally attached destination drives (m.2 ssd and sata 7200rpm) both tested to be error free and exceeding the space required however the crash result is the same.
The number of files in question is less than 35GB.

Backupper PE pro does not recognize flash card

I have all my backups on a 256G flash card connected via a card reader to an usb 3 slot to my Huawei Matebook X Pro 2019.
Backups are running ok on the card.
Trying to restore any backup from the card under WIN PE, results in not finding the backups.
When browsing for the backup the flash card is not detected.
This problem was also seen in very much older versions and disappeared again in the late 5.x versions. Now we have it again!
The used PE medium was fixed with the internal PE builder as well as the external program.
This makes the whole program worthless.

Will Disk Backup restore broken System Restore 0x81000203

Good Afternoon
My System Restore has stopped working and is showing Error 0x81000203.
I have tried a few suggestions from the internet to try to fix it but without success so far.
I do have a very recent (3 days) Aomei Disk Backup on an External HDD which was done whilst the System Restore was working.
If I restore this Disk Backup to the computer C: Drive will it put the System Restore back in and allow it to work as before?  If I were to do this are there any special precautions I should take?
My OS is Windows 10 Home 64bit 1909.
Hope someone can help me.
Regards,
Roy.

Backupper - very slow to verify image

$

I have used several versions of AOMEI backupper from around 4.5 to the latest 5.0

I have always found it to be one of the fastest backup programs for creating a disk image and the restore process is usually fairly speedy also.

However, I have found that verifying a disk image takes 2 or 3 times as long as it does to create it. This seems bizarre given that most other disk imaging software I have used, the verification time is usually shorter than the time taken to create the disk image.

Is there any reason why AOMEI backupper is so much slower at verifying the image? Can anything be done  to speed it up?

I should add that I have tried it on a few PCs (decent spec with i5 or i7 CPU) and have always found it to be slow verifying the image.

It doesn' seem to make much difference if the backup image is on an internal hard drive or an external USB drive. The only time, the verify was even remotely acceptable is when I tried creating an image onto a SSD. Obviously this isn't viable for regular backups because of the cost of SSD storage vs standard hard drives.

I have also tried booting from a WInPE disk and running the verify from there with the same slow verify performance.

Any thoughts?
