Two possibilities to define the type of backup?

$

In Backupper 6.3 I have the possibility to define the type of backup twice. In the schedule under "Advanced" and by activating the backup scheme. Shouldn't the activation of the backup scheme deactivate the option in the schedule? What does the software do when I select different backup methods? How does it know which method to use?
I find the schedule option useful only if someone finds setting up a proper backup scheme too complicated. But if the scheme is activated, this should disable the option on the schedule.

How do you think about this?

Hallo,
I have a USB WinPE AOMEI, which I made on AOMEI Builder 2.0.
USB is UEFI made on RUFUS.
The USB stick work properly on a few other computers, but on the Lenovo ThinkPad T490 won't work.
The USB AOMEI system started OK, but when the desktop is about to appear WinPE, the screens make is black or show vertical lines and laptop is hangs.
I try install additional drivers to graphical card, but effect is the same.
Can You help me ?

Can not extend partion into unallocated spac

I moved an old HD into my new computer.  That HD had two partitions on it.  One partition contained the old OS, the other a bunch of data I wanted to keep.  The drive is a dynamic drive.  I removed the partition with the OS on it (the new computer has its own OS partition, MBR, etc).  The drive itself is 1TB, the remaining partition is 600gb.  I can't extend this partition past the currently allocated 600gb.  If I try and move the slice (so that it's before the unallocated space) then I get an error stating "There is no unallocated space on both sides of the slice, so you can't move it".  What am I doing wrong here?  How can I get this partition extened to use the entire TB of space this disk has?

Surface Laptop Backup Issue

I've been using AOMEI for several months after recommending we adopt it in our production environment for imaging systems. So far so good, I am using it to deploy master images to our client Microsoft Surface Pro 4 tablets. We just recently picked up the new Microsoft Surface Laptop, and it has presented me with an unforeseen problem. When I attempt to back up the C: partition (OS), I am getting the error message:

'Information code 4122: Failed to get bitmap'

I'm not sure why this occurs as most of the hardware between the Surface Pro and the Surface Laptop is identical. Do you guys have a fix for this, or any suggestions? I appreciate any help you can give, as I have dozens of the laptops to configure and would prefer to do it by imaging and not manually. I am able to image the partition with Clonezilla, but this is not ideal as I much prefer AOMEI's interface and I don't want my NAS cluttered with different image formats. Thanks in advance.

Recovery Environment vs WinPE Bootable USB

Good Morning
I currently have AB Standard Free version 6.2.0 and am looking at updating to version 6.3.0.
The changelog for 6.3.0 refers to a new feature called Recovery Environment which can be added to the Windows Boot Menu.
Is this feature instead of the WinPE Bootable USB which I have stored on external USB flash drives and which I use to access Disc Backups stored on external HDDs ?
My OS is Windows 10 Home 1909 on a desktop PC.
Please can you advise whether I should change to Recovery Environment after update or can I continue to use Bootable USBs ?
Regards,
Roy.

Backupper 6.3.0 Windows PE added drivers

Folks,

I'm trying to build a bootable version of Backupper 6.3.0 with Areca drivers.
When the the Windows PE image is being built, the drivers I selected indicate on the log screen as successfully added. The drivers are WHQL Certified Windows 10 64bit.

When I boot the DVD media, the RAID controller/disk drives are not seen.

If I use the powershell from Backupper's WinPE, I'm able to manually load the drivers using drvload.exe and then 'rescan' to see the disks.

My question is why the downloaded AOMEI Windows PE environment isn't properly adding the Areca drivers?

PEBuilder screen resolution in PE boot

$

I use pebuilder 2.0 to make 32- and 64-bit ISOs with the Win/10-based
creating environment downloaded.  I then add these ISOs to a USB key
created with easy2boot and test with two UEFI-only laptops.

On my 64-bit laptop, WinPE comes up with 800x600 resolution (native
is 1920x1080) and no way to change it.  That would be ok for some
maintenance tasks one might do from a PE boot, but Backupper 5.7 does
not adapt to the small screen.  The main window is bigger than the
screen but can be moved around.  But if I select options, buttons to
close are off-screen and there's no escape.  The option "Enable
program window self-adaptive to screen resolution and DPI settings"
that I see running Backupper on my desktop is not present in WinPE.
Adding what drivers I could find at ASUS didn't help, and I see no
relevant BIOS options.

Fedora 32 KDE spin from USB key gets native resolution on the same laptop.

On a 32-bit laptop, WinPE comes up with the native 1368x768 resolution.

Any suggestions for either increasing the resolution or making Backupper fit on a small screen?

Thanks.

Problem with batch file syntax

hello there this is my first post and i am testing backupper pro.
i have created a batch file which does a full backup which works great. Notice the /c 2
"C:\Program Files (x86)\AOMEI\AOMEI Backupper 6.3.0\AMBackup.exe" /b new /t disk /s 0 /c 2 /d "B:\Images\Ryzen7" /n "Ryzen7"

I am now trying a differential backup. I could not get the /c 2 to work - i tried it in every position beginning, middle and end. when i run the batch file it just crashes. So i removed the /c 2 and it works but without the compression. see below.
"C:\Program Files (x86)\AOMEI\AOMEI Backupper 6.3.0\AMBackup.exe" /b dif /s "B:\Images\Ryzen7\Ryzen7.adi"

So my question is can i add compression to the differential backup ? and how to do it ?

thank you

Backupper Current Version Slows Computer to a Crawl

I have been a user of AOMEI Backupper for many years and have dozens of backups saved via the program; recently I bought the PRO version hoping to restore a drive image. But every time I open the program, everything else on my laptop slows to nothing, and menus are transparent, nothing is clickable and the entire (windows 10) system is unusable. I have to restart just to do anything.
That is very irritating. But it gets worse. Despite checking that my backups exist, and are correctly listed, when I click on any of them it says "image not found". I cannot restore or do anything.
I resorted to mounting the image I needed in Windows Exporer, just to try to save some of the missing data. This I could do, BUT, since the laptop has slowed to a snail's pace, trying to save anything to a new drive was near impossible. Even small folders took hours to relocate.
I am now at the point of giving up on this program entirely, since all my backups are unusable!!
Just to say - I completely and thoroughly uninstalled any previous AOMEI products (having saved the backups logs and tasks, obviously) and reinstalled the freshly bought program. BUT that changed nothing.
VERY disappointed and annoyed to have lost my backups, since they are "unavailable" even though Backupper finds them - and indeed they can be seen and accessed in Windows Explorer, so they DO exist.

done that and no reply, any one got any ideas? tried removing the program and reinstalling and also on a fresh install of windows 10 on this PC? below is what shows up in the log file

Bug: Disk Backupper Freezes the System

Hi,
my system freezes completely while trying to make disc image backups from my system drive (full backup).
I use Windows 10 x64 on a lenovo ThinkPad T540p, and a Samsung SSD with basic disc layout.
The Problem is independent of using VSS or AOMEIs own alternative.
Backupper writes around 25 MB to the external (USB3) hard drive, and according to Windows Resource Monitor it reads a lot of data with maximum speed from system-ssd, but don't write anything to the target drive. After some minutes Backuper stops reading from source-ssd. The system drive is somehow completely locked for any writes, but system tasks reads data from the disc. Because of the ongoing write lock the system freezes and i need to make a hard reset. I am somehow perplexed.

Thank you for any help.

When I go to the logs in Backupper, there doesn't seem to be a way to delete just one or two logs. Even if you highlight the log and hit the trash icon, it delete all the logs. Am I missing something or is this the way it is intended to work?

AOMEI PE builder apparently can't find downloaded WinPE creating environment

$

Hi,

I installed AOMEI PE builder version 2.0 on my Win XP Pro SP3 32 bit system, and the first time I ran it, when it started to initialise the WinPE creating environment, I manually downloaded the WinPE environment 32 bit zip file by clicking on the link in "if the download speed is too slow, please click here to download the creating environment and unzip it to the installation directory of the software". I also clicked on the question mark at the end of that line, which said that the files should be unzipped to the directory specified in "C:\Program Files\AOMEI PE Builder 2.0\DownloadPath.ini". I then ended PE builder as I wasn't able to continue with it at that time.

A few days later I got back to it. The DownloadPath.ini file specified "C:\Windows\TEMP\PB Download\x86", so I unzipped the WinPE zip file to that directory, retaining the directory structure in the zip file. I then started PE builder again, and when it got to the WinPE creating environment screen I removed the tick from "download WinPE creating environment from the internet" (since I had previously downloaded it). However as soon as I did that, the "next" box at the bottom of the screen changed colour from brown/orange to dark grey, and when I clicked on it, nothing happened, i.e. the "next" button was inoperative. This would appear to indicate that it couldn't find the WinPE files I previously downloaded and unzipped.

I tried copying the unzipped WinPE files to a different directory and changing the DownloadPath.ini file accordingly, but I got the same problem.

How can I get the AOMEI PE builder to "find" the unzipped WinPE files? Do I have to change the directory structure after unzipping the downloaded zip file, or remove 1 or 2 layers? It's now "C:\Windows\TEMP\PB Download\x86\WinPE Env\x86\ISO", with the ISO subdirectory containing one file (bootmgr) and 2 further subdirectories (Boot and Sources)

Sync fails, no notification, log shows "failed to open: "

I'm syncing three PCs via Backupper Pro 6.3.0.  Two PCs sync without trouble, but one failed to sync last night.  Backupper shows the following message for a number of files in the AppData/Local folder:

Failed to open: C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\WindowsApps\B9ECED6F.ASUSPCAssistant.AsusKeyboardHost.exe. Result: 1920.

The sync does not occur, but there is no log entry showing that it failed, and I don't get any email notification that it failed.  Any idea what the problem is?
