Does the Unregistered Version do Full Backups only? or Full, then incremental ?

Backups set to incremental, but always seems to do full?

I have my backup job set as "incremental", and also have the scheme set to "Incremental backup scheme" with the number of backups to keep as 3. I expect this behavior to work as follows: the first backup will be a full backup which will take a long time, and the next 2 will be incremental backups that take significantly less time. However, all my backups seem to take a very long time - like, 8+ hours, so I need to leave my laptop running during the whole day while I'm at work so when I come home the backup is done or almost done. Is there a way I can verify whether my backups are incremental or not? How long should I expect an incremental backup to take? The drive I'm backing up is about 500 GB, but I made almost no changes since the last backup. Should the filenames for my backups indicate that they are full or incremental? My backup names are just "Disk Backup.adi", "Disk Backup1.adi", and "Disk Backup2.adi". It is just not practical for me to have my laptop backing up for hours every day.

Backup and Universal Restore ends up in Windows 10 repair

Hi,

I am using the Backupper Tech Plus to backup my computers. And it always worked so far.

Now I wanted to backup my Windows 10 machine (which is virtual for dev reasons) and restore it to my physical machine. (I have done that several times already).

Also I simply want to backup a physical machine to a new physical machine.

Those two processes are actually the same procedure. I do a system backup to a USB drive or NAS and restore it on another PC. I am using the WIN PE USB Boot device to boot Aomei. Then I select the backup file and do a universal restore to C.

I also convertet the new hard drive in the new machine with PartitionAssistant to a fresh MBR hard drive with one partition.

It restores perfectly without any errors.

But when I want to boot, I mostly end up in a Windows repar screen or get an error in the Windows Boot Manager.

WHAT???

I did the backing up and restoring procedure at least 5 times each. Also with different USB Boot sticks to be sure.

I just dont know why it wont work anymore!!

Do you have any ideas what I still can try???

Cheers
Mario

Sorry, automatic translation

Hello

I would like to perform a secure erase of my SSD.

My PC works with Windows 10

AOMEI Partition Assistant Pro 8.10 software answers me:

"This feature can only be used on Windows 7"

Why this software is not up to date to work on Windows 10 and the buyer is not informed

I bought this software only for this function and I don't want to use a computer that is not my own.

Best regards

Michael

Download old versions of AOMEI Backupper (V5)

Hi all,

I am a legit and registered user of AOMEI Backupper Pro.

I need to read files from a Backup created by a computer which doesn't exist any more, according to the timestamp the backup was created around end of 2019. The current version of AOMEI Backupper refuses to read the backup file, saying something like "file is corrupt, or version does not match". I cannot remember which version was installed on the computer when the backup was created. Originally I purchased a V4, but may have updated it some day, I cannot remember. I tried a V4.02 I had still around, and the current 6.1, but no success.

Can I download a version 5 somewhere to try?
Is there any way to look into the backup file to tell which version was used to create it?

Thanks, Armin.

Aomei PE Builder & Windows 10 Device Drivers

I've been trying to create a bootable PE USB disk which will contain the correct device drivers for my system, but so far nothing I do seems to change the info shown under Device Manager each time I boot with the latest ISO I have created.

I tried using Driver Backup software and backing up device drivers into a separate directory.  Then I click on add drivers and add five "inf" files into the list, but this seems to have no effect on the number of yellow warning icons listed in Device Manager.  What am I doing wrong?  It is almost as if the PE build I'm creating doesn't recognize the drivers I keep adding?

Hello, following the reinstallation of Windows10 on 10/21/2020 all the software on my hard drive has been erased, including AOMEI Backupper Pro installed on 16/10/2020. I reinstalled AOMEI Backupper today 10/22/2020 and the key I indicate is deemed "invalid" How is this possible?
Kind regards

Create an image file of C Drive, and save it into a subfolder in D drive

Hello,

I would like to create a bootable USB, and run Aomei from this boot. Than, to create an image to C partition (contains Windows 10 and my applications), and save it into D partition, under a subfolder, as a file.
Is that possible?

Currently, I found that while trying to create a backup into D drive, I would need to select the entire (!) D drive. This means that the entire D drive will be overwrtitten by the cloned partition. Is that correct?

Isn't it possible to save the backup file in specifc folder in D drive? (for example, D:\\Backup folder)?

I succedded to create an ADI image file, only while backup from the application (while running Windows), but not when runing Aeomi from the bootlble Disk on Key. Why?
Thanks

Hello.

I was just wondering if it's safe to delete files that were created with the Merge Backups tool, but were unable to complete due to a lack of hard drive space on the backup disk.

Thank you.

What happens when backups are interrupted?

I have not been able to find the answer to this question: what happens if a backup is interrupted due to the computer going to sleep/hibernate, or the computer's battery dying mid-backup?

Is there a way I can set it so that backups will only occur when the laptop is plugged in? So that way I don't have to worry about the battery dying?

Also, is there a setting to prevent the computer from going to sleep during a backup?

Free Standard edition deleted partitions from disk whilst attempting to create MBR...

...and when I use partition recovery wizard, it's telling me I have to spend $50 to get professional edition!  If I caused the problem, fair enough, but it was the AOMEI software that did it, so I'm not happy about this. Is there any way I can get this put back to how it was without being forced to pay for the pro edition of the software that caused the problem?

Hi all.
Many thanks for reading and any advice given.

Just followed the aomei guide...

Created backup image on external hdd.
Created bootable usb - win pe - uefi etc.......and got notifications that win pe would download... and be compatible with 2 things ?!
I forget what exactly....not a big pc guy, apologies, but download proceeded and usb created.
AGAIN - Not going to upgrade/swap ssd as yet !

Now however, rebooted as normal and no wifi, no touchpad.
device manager shows no wifi card at all, luckily found an old usb wifi stick to come on here.
no touchpad, but L button ok ?!
WIN PE somehow messed something up ?

So please help me get wifi card back in device manager and touchpad working.
thanks

AOMEI Backupper Standard is free software only for not commercial using. It means that I can use it only for backup my home computer? Can I install this software on my office computer for backup?
Does "not commercial using" mean that i can't earn money using the programm? Or it means that i can't istall it on my office computer if my company is commercial?

Help setting up backup retention scheme

$

I would like to do the following:
1. Create a full backup once a month, with daily incremental backups in between the fill backups
2. Retain the last 3 months of backups

If I set my scheme to "Incremental backup scheme" and select 30 as the number of backups in this set (with a daily schedule), this does #1 above. However, it says it will retain the latest one set of backups, and unfortunately that number is not configurable. Is there a way to do this? Or am I stuck with only being able to retain one previous set (which in this case would be 2 months, not 3)?

Backupper Update deletes complete Folder with Image-Files

I just updated my Backupper Standard to Version 6.1 and after that a complete Folder ( C:\Aomei ) with Image-Files has disappeared from my Windows 10 (Version 2004) Computer.
This happened already before when I did an update to an earlier version 5.x a few months ago. Sadly I forget this issue when I started the update today.  Did anyone experienced the same issue while updating?

Backup & Restore.

Hello everyone.
I am just new to using Aomei Backupper.

I had a 120GB M.2  SSD on my HP laptop. The space was running out. So I decided to upgrade to a 256GB
M.2 SSD. I was supposed to Clone my 120GB onto the new 256GB, but for lack of M.2 to USB/SATA adaptor, I was left with the "Backup and Restore" option.

The process completed successfully and it's working perfectly, but I noticed that the restore divided my new 256GB into 2 drives: C—118GB and D—118. So my C drive is still full while D is empty.

Please note: I don't have files like, Documents, Videos, Pictures etc on my PC. Only program files on my PC.

What should I do? I have also tried to merge the partitions but it didn't work.
