Back up tasks disappear

$

Hi.  This is not the first time this has happened, but after doing a series of backups onto various disks, all the backup tasks have all of a sudden disappeared from the Aomei interface.

The images still exist on the disks.  Is there a way to get the tasks back so I don't have to start over?

Thanks

My new Centralized Backupper (full/unlimited license version) will not register Agents remotely

My first Agent installations were Trials (because I was originally sent the "Trial" version of the "AOMEI Multi-Manager Download", when I purchased it - not the proper copy).

None of them would register through ACB - still saying "Agent Trial" or "Agent Unregistered" in some cases, where they were from a different [full] Agent.exe.

When I key in the KEY for the Multi-Manager Download, or the KEY for the Backupper Technician Plus + Lifetime Upgrades, it pops up with:

"AOMEI Centralized Backupper Agent cannot be registered remotely with the license code of AOMEI Backupper."

also... same response when I try the Multi-Manager code.

Please advise, I was hoping to get everything registered properly, by now.

Windows Defender is classifying HideRun.exe in the system folder of AOMEI PE Builder 2.0 as an undesirable program and is placing it into Quarantine.  Is this a false positive or are there problems with the file?

Couldn't deinstall AOMEI fully or cleanly

I tried the AOMEIBackupperStd. Installed it on a Windows8.1 system. Did a System backup to transfer it to another machine.

Then I noticed that I had to do the backup over once again. Naively deleting the backup folder and file from the backup medium
I found that I better had not done this. I deinstalled AOMEI and it says "not all components could be deleted".

After reinstalling it, I noticed that AOMEI somewhere in my system must have remembered something, that now made it think
count to backup(2) and doesn't allow me to completely delete this memorizing.

Really weird.

What do I have to do to completely erase AOMEI so that I can start over cleanly?

Install to dissimilar hardware, created additional partitions.... which are redundant????

Hi there I just upgraded my CPU and motherboard and used an image to install windows 10 to the new equipment. I inadvertently created extra partitions when choosing the install options (or so I think) and now my system behaves oddly on a cold boot.

It seems the system is rebooting from partition to partition looking for a viable boot partition. It never fully initializes, never going into bios but turns on and off three + times and finally settles in and boots as it should. I suspect it my be trying to access incorrect partitions? Honestly... I'm not sure. Once I have booted into the desktop, I can 'restart' with no delay or hiccups... goes right in and acts as it should... Which seems odd to me.

Here is an image of the partition layout, I would assume "boot'" and "System" are the correct partitions to keep and the other are incorrect or optional to bringing the machine up?

Or... perhaps the odd cold boot issue is unrelated?

What do you think?

1TB SSD only shows 1024MB total disk space after cloning

I cloned a 250gb ssd to a 1tb ssd and it wouldn't boot. It had two partitions that I merged and when I converted to GPT, I'm down to 1024.00mb total with 1022.00mb unallocated. I can't do anything with it because it's "too small" to partition.
Any idea on how to fix this?

Problem with Parallels and Aomei Backupper Pro?

I have the following problem.
I run virtual windows 10 within the application Parallels on a iMac. I pass a network address on the iMac as a destination (\\Mac\<user>\CloudStation\ Backups\)  Navigating to the address works well in the dialog window but then an error message follows.
I have been using Aomei Backupper Professional for several weeks, before that I used Syncback Free and there was no problem at all with the same network address. The same error when I replace 'Mac' with the ip-address. What I am doing wrong? I have contacted Aomei support and they have sent the problem to the developer team but after almost 2 months no reaction. Maybe someone on the forum has an idea.

I want to buy Aomei Backupper Standard Pro

Hello guys,

I want to buy Aomei Backupper pro, but I would like to know if there are people who have experience with this program.

I want to clone an old hard drive on my laptop to a new ssd crucialMX500. With this ssd you get a link at the purchase to download the program Acronis True Image Home for Free for Windows 10.

But the manual of this program states that cloning a hard drive to a ssd on a laptop often causes problems. That's why Acronis support advises people to better back up and repair disk

Especially if you want to clone a hard drive to a ssd crucial, it is better to make a backup (image) and recovery disc and thus transfer the image to the ssd crucial.

Is this also the case with the Aomei Backupper Standard Pro program?

Or can the Aomei Backupper Standard Pro program easily clone a hard drive on a laptop to a new ssd?

Please advise you on this.

Best regards

gilbert from Belgium.

AOMEI Backing up C: and E:, but not D:

$

Hello,
I have "AOMEI OneKey Recovery 1.6.2" on Windows 10 Pro.

In Windows Explorer, I am seeing the following 3 drives:
  • System (C:) - This has all the installations - around 250 GB
  • Data (D:) - This has all the data - around 200 GB
  • Local Disk (E:) - This appears a bit weird drive. Its size is only 99 MB (not GB), and has 85 MB free. When I try to double click on it, it says you dont have permissions and asks to hit the "Continue" button. Upon clicking that, it says "You have been denied permission to access this folder" and "To gain access, you will need to use 'Security tab'". Upon selecting the "Security tab", it shows Type as Local Disk and File System as "FAT32"
Surprisingly, this E: is NOT explicitly showing in System Partition (Disk Management).
In the list of visible partitions, going from left to right, I see a 100MB partition with no name, then C: (NTFS), then D drive  NTFS), then AOMEI partition (800MB FAT32), then AOMEI Recovery Partition (32 GB NTFS).

E drive label is not seen at all.

Q1 - Is the E drive partition wrong or faulty? Or is it some kind of special partition?

When backing up using the "AOMEI OneKey Recovery 1.6.2", I observed that the it is only backing up C: and E:, but NOT the D drive

Q2 - What can be done to also back up D drive which only contains data (and no program installation or Windows instalations)?

Thanks

AOMEI Centralized Backupper - Wrong DNS Name

$

We have recently started to use AOMEI Centralized Backupper. We have several clients in the list of computers that are showing the wrong DNS name against the IP Address.  We have tried closing the software and clearing the DNS cache on the server (IPCONFIG /FLUSHDNS). When we restart the software the affected clients now have different DNS names, but still wrong ones.  If we ping the correct DNS name on the server it returns the correct IP Address, so not too sure where the software is picking up the DNS Name, and I can't see any way to rename a client.

Any help would be appreciated.

System Backup vs. Disk Backup

$

This is a newbie question, and I have been googling around for a while and found several other discussions on this question - however I am still confused, so I thought I'd ask it myself.

I recently installed AOMEI Backupper Standard and would like to back up my whole computer. I am presented with several options, but the ones I think are relevant are "System Backup" and "Disk Backup". I am confused as to the difference, even after reading the online support pages and several other discussions online.

This is what I want to do: I have a Synology NAS, and I would like to back up my entire laptop to it, including:
- The operating system
- All installed programs as well as their configuration settings
- All files (documents, movies, music, games, photos, etc.)
Essentially, I would like to restore my laptop to exactly the state it is in now in the event that something bad happens. (Or, to be more specific - if something bad happens to my laptop, I would like to restore the same OR a new computer to exactly the same state my current computer is in, depending on whether my current laptop is still functional or I need an entirely new one).

To do this, do I want "System Backup" or "Disk Backup"? Disk Backup seems to include everything that System Backup does, but potentially more - IF I had other partitions on my disk (which I don't think I do? I'm guessing other partitions would only exist if I intentionally partitioned my hard drive for some reason). It seems like doing a Disk Backup is probably the safest way to go, but am I missing anything that a System Backup would do that a Disk Backup doesn't? Or vice-versa? If there are no additional partitions, are they essentially the same thing?

If someone could give me a very dumbed down explanation of the difference between the two, and which one I want for my use case, that would be extremely helpful!

Hi,

I have a problem. I don't know why, since yesterday each time I shut down my PC I get this message during 30 min before it actually stops. It's very desapointing because I can't skip it in any way. What did happen ?

I did not change the preferences / options.

Hope you can help me,

Best regards,
