Explore Image issue with Backupper 6.0

When I go to the Tools menu and select the option to explore an image only one backup image is displayed on the screen.  However, if I select the option to browse a path both backups are displayed.  Then when I select the link to the second image and click okay I am returned to a screen labeled as backup point and both full backups are displayed.  From this screen I am able to select the backup point and everything seems to operate as I would expect.  I am not sure why both backups were not displayed initially.  I don't know if it matters, but I updated version 5.9.0 to version 6.0.

System Backup vs. Disk Backup ?

If there is only a single partition on the boot or C: drive and programs & everything else are also on it, does a System Backup image everything, or does it somehow ignore the programs? If it backs up everything, then is there any reason to choose a Disk Backup vs. a System Backup? IOW would one be faster than the other? Or would one use less backup disc space than the other?

Also the Help Guides state with a Disk Backup “after restoring it, the system can boot normally.” However it doesn’t say you can boot normally after restoring a System Backup. But can you?

Thanks for any information,

Confused by Explore Image

I am a newcomer to this forum and also not very computer-literate so please forgive me if I do something wrong or do not explain my query clearly.
I am on Backupper Standard (now version 6.0.0 ) and my OS is Windows 10 Home 1909.
I have put some Disk Backups onto Seagate external HDDs  and these are accessible by booting up the computer using a bootable USB flash drive produced from an ISO through the Tools program.
I am keen to find out how to restore just parts of the backups and Aomei Support pointed me to a tutorial about 'Explore Image' on the website but unfortunately I don't fully understand it and need some help.
I can go through the explore image procedures successfully including assigning drive letters (see attached images) and onto the end screen which says "The operation has been completed successfully" but the I have no idea what to do next !!
What I want to possibly do is extract and restore just parts of the Disk Backup eg; Documents or pictures folders and any individual items from those folders - if this is possible can some kindly forum member please talk me through it and, bearing in mind my novice status, be gentle with me!!
Regards, Roy.

I guess its somehow written into *.adi file header.

but how to read it?

We have just upgraded to version 2.6.  We have set a Lock password.  We have used a company standard admin password.  When we go back into the app, it is not accepting the password.

We have tried to uninstall and then re-install, but it still requires the 'password'.

Can you please advise.

Thanks

Lee.

Will Aomei One Key access System Restore Points in Windows 10

Good Evening
I am already a user of Aomei Backupper Standard and regularly use it to make disk backups on my desktop PC and Lenovo ThinkPad laptop. I also have the Aomei bootable media on USB flash drives which do start the Recovery program on a testing basis - never yet had to use them in anger!!
I have another problem which I am finding unsolvable and now wonder if Aomei One Key Recovery might help me with it.
I also have Windows 10 Recovery drives for both machines which do boot up both of them when tested - the desktop allows progress through the recovery environment to allow clicking through to the box which gives access to the System Restore points already set up on the computer but the same thing is not possible on the Lenovo laptop. The eventual message is shown in the attached image.
I must stress that I do not want at this stage to reinstall Windows with these Recovery media but for now just want to be able to start a 'blocked' computer to then get back to a previous point of normal function.
Would Aomei One Key be able to get me to a point where I could use the System Restore points - or even get into Safe Mode ?
Sorry if this is not explained very clearly, but as a bit of a computer beginner I am not sure of the various correct descriptive terms that I should be using.
Do hope someone can help me.
Regards,
Roy.

Missing files after disk clone?

Hi! I downloaded the AOMEI free version to copy C-drive to new SSD drive, to be the new bootable windows 10 drive.

So, by reading the online article I found, I went to clone section and selected Disk Clone. The original C-drive has 305GB data. Aomei took some time to do the job, but finally it was ready. When I went to disk properties, I however discovered that It copied only 271Gb.

So what happened to those 34gb of files? Is this drive now safe to boot and how can I copy rest of the files?

I purchased Backupper Professional edition some time ago, and have attempted several times to contact Aomei for support. Every time, I receive an email response like the following:

Hope you’re doing well! This is an automated email from AOMEI Support regarding request -108123.
Fwd: BackUpper Professional - License no longer accepted

(content of my original request)

This is a reminder that your request 108123 is pending and awaits your response. If you wish to close the request, no additional action is necessary and the request will close automatically. This implies that someone has responded to my request, but no other correspondence is ever received. I have used the Sign Up function at aomei.freshdesk.com several times with multiple email addresses in order to view my ticket, but do not receive a temporary password or confirmation email. I have also attempted to use the Forgot your password? page, but when I enter any of these email addresses I am returned to the login page with a "You are not authorized..." error.

How am I expected to respond when I am unable to see what the support team has said?

Thanks

I have used the Aomei backupper program to create a system backup in case I need to restore my Windows10 if my primary drive (ssd) fails.  I already have a windows repair disk that I created with windows 10 backup and restore.  Can I use this existing repair disk to restore from the system backup, or do I have to make a recovery disk with the Aomei backupper application?

Hello,
First time on.  Great product.
Question: I understand that the Surface Test doesn't fix bad sectors but does it mark them as bad and not usable?
Thanks in advance for any replies.  I appreciate your time.

We recently upgraded to the pro-version of AOMEI Centralized Backupper and are having issues gaining control of one of our computers. So far we've tried deleting & reinstalling the agent both manually and remotely as well as disabling the firewall/anti-virus to no avail. All computers are connected to the server via a switch.

Windows 10 backup problem in dual boot

hello,
I am in dual boot with 2 versions of Windows 10 which work perfectly.
I made a backup of the first Windows 10 (1) then a second backup of the other Windows 10 (2).
Everything went correctly.
When I restore the first Windows 10 (1) I lose the dual boot window when I start the computer. The second Windows 10 (2) is still well installed on its partition.
What do you advise me to do to remedy this problem. Thank you

System Restore on new Windows 10 OS on same hard drive

Hello,

I need some advice about using Aomei System Restore.
Recently, my laptop became slow and unresponsive so I called a computer repair technician for help. They ran a diagnostic on my machine and told me the OS (Windows 10) was corrupted and that registry files were messed up. He told me he would have to format my hard drive and replace my OS which would mean I would lose all my data, programs and system settings.
Before this happened I managed to backup all my files using Aomei Backupper, using File Backup for my data and System Backup onto an external HD.
My question is: Can I restore my previously backed up system image onto the same hard drive that has been reinstalled with a new Windows 10 OS if I re-install the Aomei Backupper software?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Aomei backupper, incremental clone possible or only backups?

First off, your program saved my win 10 system, macrium would not boot, so it was worth it to pay for workstation version.

I make a lot of clones with macos, and the program I use it does it incremental so it doesn't take much time, is this possible with workstation or does it make full clone everytime?

if not, making incremental backups is ok, especially with boot usb is something goes wrong, but something please consider it in the future, it is handy feature thanks.

Aomei Backupper Standard Free can't start clone

:) :| Hello guys,

I downloaded and installed Aomei Backupper Standard Free. After selecting the source and target disk, I click the Start Clone button. But only the window that offers the upgrade to the pro Aomei Backupper edition appears.
I can't clone my hard drive to the ssd. Every time I click the button, the window comes with the offer of the pro Aomei Backupper edition.
At the bottom left there is also a request to enter the license code.
Why does Aomei use such touts to force the paid version?
Or do I do something wrong and the Aomei Backupper Standard works normally?
Please advise you on this.
Thanks in advance.
With kind greetings,
Gilberto
