Disk Space Management Fail

$

I purchased the professional version specifically for the disk space management feature – which is not working. I am backing up to a USB attached harddrive with roughly 8 times the capacity of the data being backed up. When the drive is full, the back up fails with the comment: “Information Code:4138 There is not enough space on the disk.”

Disk space management is enabled with a full backup after 10 differential versions . The machine is running windows 10 with all updates.

What should I do?

I keep a record of all my activation keys in a folder, but somehow I lost the one for AOMEI One Key.  The product is already installed.  How can I look it up on my installed application so I can record it.

I purchased Backupper Pro with free lifetime upgrades. I have never been able to get an upgrade to Pro but just upgrades to Standard which I just used with no issues. Now that my desktop failed and I need the features of Pro. I installed from the original CD and get the message that this version has expired and I must to the full version. I downloaded the Pro free trial but the license code on my CD is invalid. How do I get my purchased product to reinstall?

ravanza HELP!! System restore to different PC failed with error 2, now will not boot at all

OK, from looking at posts here, I can see that I am in way over my head.  I am currently using an e machines desk computer and I wanted to transfer programs and data from that machine to a Dell desk top.  Both are on Windows 10.  Here is what I have done:

  • I did the backup using AOMEI standard on the e machine to an external disk drive (H).
  • I then downloaded AOMEI standard to the new machine and connected it to the external drive and attempted restore.
  • Failed because the equipment was different.
  • I then purchased AOMEI professional and did the restore process.
  • It rocked along and seemed to be doing well, then it failed with the error "could not assign drive letter".  Since then I am unable to boot the Dell machine.
  • I have the AOMEI boot files on a thumb drive, and the Windows recovery files on a separate thumb drive.  The machine does not read either thumb drive and keeps offering drives that I don't have as boot sources.

I didn't mention that the Dell machine is one that my husband picked up for free at the local senior center and I don't know anything about it really except it has more hard drive and RAM storage.

What do I do now????  Please help.

Runtime Error (at 376:456) - Internal error: ExtractTemporaryFile: file "bg_welcome.png" not found

I'm trying to install Aomei Backupper and I'm getting this error:
Runtime Error (at 376:456) - Internal error: ExtractTemporaryFile: The file "bg_welcome.png" was not found.

I'm running Win 7 x64

I looked it up and the best I could do was find out that it was somehow related to Microsoft Visual C++, but I'm not sure whether this really is the problem.

AOMEI Partition Assistant huge log file size

Hello,

I am in the process of moving partition for an external hard drive using the AOMEI Partition Assistant standard edition. After one day of process, a warning popped up and it is about the c drive being full. I find that the log file name "ampa35.log" located inside the log folder of AOMEI Partition Assistant is taking up a lot of space, it has taken 30GB of space and that's what make my hard drive full. The process of moving the partition stopped as well possibly due to lack of space in c drive.

I removed some files in my c drive but the log file keeps getting bigger and bigger and it will eventually fill up the hard drive. Please help and I need a solution for this case, I don't wanna risk cancelling the process and ended up losing all my data in my external drive.

Thank you.

Delete log while partition assistant sector by sector cloning in progress?

This is related to another post where I added onto an old thread about very large log sizes.  Currently, my computer is bogged down because all OS drive space has been taken by the Partition assistant log.

If I use a tool to break the file reservation on the log can I delete it while the cloning process is running?  The cloning has been going very slowly (from 53% at 6am today to 64% by 3pm).  I don't want to loose the process but at the same time I'd like to be able to use the computer.

Please let me know whether I can delete the log while the sector by sector clone process is active.  To be clear, I don't want to crash the cloning process!

Thanks!

Is the drive backup image created by AOMEI generic?

$

I made a disk backup before I took laptop to shop for new hard drive.  Now I am reading about all kinds of problems using RESTORE.  Like drive letters changing, computer not booting, systems trashed.  Very scary reading.  Is the drive image I created with AOMEI standard generic or proprietary?  Can I use Windows 10 restore with the AOMEI image I created?  I am afraid I will lose everything because I chose to use AOMEI to make my disk backup.   Does anyone know if I can use other software to RESTORE the AOMEI image on new hard drive?

New version of Backupper refuses to install

I had a previous version of Backupper on my Windows 7 machine. I uninstalled it before trying to install the new version. As part of the uninstallation I restarted the computer as instructed. Next I tried to install the new version, but after the first screen or two of the setup it displays a message saying "Setup has detected a restart required to perform the uninstall. Please restart and try again." I restarted again...and again....and again. Every time I try to install the new version it gives me that same message and won't let me continue the installation. I have also tried re-installing the old (2012) version to see if that would work, but it gives me the same message.

What can I do?

Thanks in advance for any suggestion.

Linux bootable or Windows PE

I have been unsuccessful in creating a Windows PE bootable DVD.  Can I create Linux bootable to boot my Windows 10 system to restore backup image?

Need to restore only certain files from backup - but don't have permission?!

After the AOMEI upgrade, I didn't pay attention to the uninstall/reinstall process and ended up making a mess of my system.  It wouldn't even boot.  My fault, but still a nightmare.
Now after a clean Windows 7 reinstall, I want to only restore certain folders from my last image backup.
Problem is that after mounting the image, I can't access the files because I suddenly don't have permission!
Please help.  I don't want to mess with permissions too much and crash again.

Partition copy problem

Hello,
I tried to copy my whole laptop OS disk using partition copy wizard. At the time I had Partition Assistant 6.6. I'm copying the partitions from a 2TB HDD with partitions that combined are 500GB of size. The rest of the HDD space is blank.

I tried to copy those 3 partitions (OEM recovery, EFI system, data) to a 1TB SSD. The wizard went through ok, but the system refuses to start with the new SSD. It does not detect any OS from BIOS.

Seems, that one or both of the types on the first two partitions in the DESTINATION drive (recovery, EFI system) is not correct. Can't remember what the partition types are after the copy, but the wizard also gives all the partitions drive letters.

How can I clone the whole system safely so that it works? I'm unable to use disk copy wizard, because the source drive (2TB HDD) is larger (although most of it is blank space) than the destination drive (1TB SSD).

Any help is appreciated.

SSD doesn't show up when I try to "Migrate OS to SSD"

I recently upgraded my computer with a new motherboard, CPU, and RAM, and now the computer doesn't manually boot to the SSD anymore. BIOS didn't allow me to boot automatically from it, so I tried migrating the OS to the SSD via AOMEI, but it doesn't show up.

It's hard to search this particular issue. Disk 3 is the SSD, and as you can see it isn't showing up in the smaller window.

Please help me.

Thank you.

Unable to use any existing backup job after doing a system restore

$

The last two times after I needed to restore my system from a backup, I was unable to continue using any of my stored backup jobs. I got messages that the partitions do not exist or were changed. I was forced to create a new full system backup. Could someone please explain why this is happening. It never did in the past. I am running the latest version of Windows 10 64 bit and my Laptop is UEFI.

Does this mean that once I do a system restore, all my current backup jobs are obsolete? Does this mean that I can no longer do another restore from any of these backups?

Thank you.

Update Backupper

Just a small question:
if I check for updates in my licensed backupper Pro 4.1.0 it says it's the actual version.
If I install the test-version 4.1.0 in a VM (VirtualBox) and then check for updates, it says "there is a new version 4.5.1".
Why?

Scheduled Task not running

I setup a scheduled task to run the incremental backup job each week day for a job.  It ran for 2 days, but then it stopped.  I can run the backup job manually without problems.  The other strange thing is although I have the job set to send email notification I get nothing.  In the notification configuration setting enabled to send on success & failures.  The Event longs do not show any entries for the days the job does not run.

BTW the task is set to use the AOMEI service not Windows scheduler.

Am I missing something?

Backupper Pro 4.5.1 Commandline

When running the newest version of Buckupper Pro (4.5.1) from commandline, the backup command runs immediately through given a success message. In the backgroun the core process does the backing up. A following command comes back with the message "There's another AOMEI Backupper program running right now." and terminates. This leads to a situation, that batch backups no longer work.

File sync: Obsolete files are not deleted.

Hi everyone, i have set up some file syncs. My aim is to backup the content of some folders from my notebook to my NAS once a week. My problem is that the sync adds new files to the mirror folder on the NAS but it doesn't remove deleted ones. For instance i have the files A, B, C in both folders. I delete file A and add file D in the source. The source folder now contains B, C, D. If i run the sync the target folder has A, B, C, D in it but i expect the Backupper to delete A in the target folder as well. Any advice to fix that? Thanks in advance and regards, Peter
