PE Builder 2.0; Auto-launch script at startup

$

Hi,

I have searched here in the forum but didn't find anything about the following: Is it possible (and if yes - how) to have a script (CMD, Powershell, VBScript) auto-launch at startup of a generated PE Build in order to launch e.g. reg add commands or starting  a service.

Is this at all possible?

(My current goal is to launch the TightVNC server automatically at PE startup - so that I can send the ISO file to an assistant technican and he boots up a broken machine with the ISO and I can then easily access the broken machine from remote).

Thanks for your feedback and

With kind regards,

John

AOMEI Server partition assistant

Hi there,

Just installed AOMEI server partition assistant on my VM server 20018 R2 to convert my basic C drive to GPT.  The process started by booting my VMware into WinPE with AOMEI software.  At the end of the process server partition assistant showed the message "The partition need to be fragmented or increase the space about 2GB more".  I acknowledged the message and closed the assistant.  I restarted my VM and now it only  boots into PXE.  I need to boot my VM into OS so that I can fragment the drive.  Need help booting into OS.

Thanks

Laptop won't boot after full disk image restore

My laptop will not boot. The error msg says:

"Reboot and select proper boot device..." so apparently it is not recognizing my hard drive as a boot device.

Here's what happened.  My laptop had a motherboard failure, but the HDD seemed okay.  I removed it and put it in a USB enclosure and performed a full disk image backup with Backupper onto an external drve.

I reinstalled the HDD in the laptop and sent it for repair.  It came back with a new motherboard, and the original HDD reformatted to a factory Windows 10 install.

I backed that install up with Backupper, and then attempted to restore my original disk image.  It appeared to complete okay.  But...

When I tried booting, I got that message above.  I checked the BIOS, and it lists the HDD as first boot device.

I have repeated the restore a few times, using a USB restore drive created from Backupper on another computer.  (Specified to legacy BIOS.)  I made sure to specify Universal Restore.  I restored each partition separately, specifying Universal Restore each time, and making sure the main drive was C:.  I still get "Reboot and select proper boot device."

The BIOS screeen still lists the HDD as the first boot device.  "Launch CSM" is Enabled.

I hope someone can help.  I am at wit's end. I am using the Professional version, by the way.
Thanks.

Installing AOMEI Partition Assistant

I have just downloaded AOMEI Partition Assistant.
I have a notebook with a damaged (nonfunctional) W10 O/S.  I want to use another computer to install AOMEI on a USB flash drive, then use that stick to boot the troublesome computer.  I will then probably wipe the unwanted partitons from the disk, prior to installing a fresh copy of W10 on the computer. (I have to licence key for W10)

When I try to install AOMEI on the D drive, I change the default location OK, but it then wants to install shortcuts in a Start Menu Folder that seems to be located in the computer being used to install the software, rather than on the USB.
Once I move the USB to the troublesome computer, will it boot to AOMEI rather than the defective W10?  If not, how do I make it boot to AOMEI?
All suggestions appreciated

PS:  The problem with the damaged W10 seems to be that it is an old version, and has an old copy of Norton on it.  Forums tell me some W10 versions malfunctioned with some versions of Norton.  Whatever, the screen flashes continuously, and it is unusable.

* Ich arbeite mit Windows 10/64 und MS-Office 2007!

Mit Dank und freundlichen Gruß, Colonius

I have looked through your previous discussions, but nothing is working for me.  The windows is so big I an't see it. Can't scroll, can't move (stuck on the monitor) and won't resize in any way. I have already enabled large window mode in settings.  Enabled, disabled, you name it.  What am I doing wrong?

How to speed up Wipe External Hard Drive

Hello,

Given AOMEI Partition Assistant Standard Edition running on Windows 10, the estimate for Wiping an 8TB external Hard drive is 141 hours or 5.8 days for 2 pass, 211 hours or 8.7 days for 3 pass.  The hard drive only uses 23% of 8TB space.  Is there a way to speed up wiping down to one day for 3 pass?

The benchmark from CrytalDiskMark indicates that the hard drive writing speed is 220MB/s.  That is, 12GB per minute.   That speed is fast enough.  How the speed slow down dramatically?

I am sure this question has been asked before, but I just can't find the answer.   Thank you,

AOMEI OneKey Recovery-Customized Technician-Failure to create backup "Performing Reboot Mode Failed"

I am using the AOMEI OneKey Recovery-Customized Technician software.  I have been for years and have few issues however it has failed to complete the backup on a few PC Tablets that I have tried.  The newest one is an HP X2 210 G2.  It is Windows 10 Pro 64 bit.
The software installs well.  The backup begins and proceeds as normal to about 30%.  Then it jumps to 100% and stops.  The list of tasks stops with the final line of "Performing reboot mode failed".  Is there something that needs to be changed in the BIOS Settings?  How can I get this to create a complete recovery?
Please see the screenshot of the failed recovery creation.

Restore disk error 214: "disk not enough reserve space" on exactly the same disk

I have been using Aomei backupper for years (successfully) and I recently had my company buy the Technical edition and full support.  Well, for the first time I am getting the 214 error on a restore to the same sized drive as the backup. The integrity of the backup has been verified.  I could really use some help.  I am on my fourth attempt ( I have tried to wipe out the partitions on the target and restart and still same error). This is a window 7 image (500GB disk) to a 500GB disk.

Since the machine opens with the option to invoke One-Key Recovery, is it possible to hide the unsightly boot menu that follows? Short of using BCDEdit? Thanks.

Pesky W10 error 1450 when using a network attached disk

I'm out of tricks to get rid of this error message.
When I use a different back up options on a network attached disk, I get the "Unknown" 1450 error from the Professional version.
I've tried all the solutions Google can find, including changing the Registry, to no avail.

Within seconds of starting the backup, I get this:
Backup is initializing...
Information Code:1450
Unknown Error.

With a File Backup, the (empty )directory (MyFileBackup(xx) on the target drive is created, so there seems to be no issue connecting or with access rights.

When I try the same File Backup on a USB connected disk, everything works.

A System Backup, a Partition Backup or a File Sync to the same network drive terminate with the 1450 error, but a Disk Backup works OK, go figure...

I used a W10 created drive (X:\) as the target destination and also created a NAS connection using the AOMEI software, I can browse fine, but backups using either one as the target result in the 1450 error.

My PC has been working flawlessly with many network attached drives, computers and what-have-nots. For that reason, I doubt if the problem is with my network drivers. I used CCleaner, among other tools, to check for registry issues. I also get a clean result when I use SFC /SCANNOW on the OS disk.

I'm not sure if the problem is with AOMEI software or W10, can anybody shed some light on this problem?

Tks!

incremental backup

As I am wanting to use backupper to back up a partition  on a network disk I am using the file/folder copy option. It would be very useful to be able to do this ibcrementally. Is there/will there be an incremental option?

Simple question...Did a "Disc" backup and now want to backup daily or weekly.

Simple question - did a "Disc" backup and now want to backup daily or weekly. Understand that the "Disc" backup I did backed up everything on my C drive, so if I someday need to restore either the present HD, or a new HD to replace the current one, the restore will only include the files data etc contained as of the date of the "Disc" backup.
Want to keep the backup up to date. What do I need to do?

Thanks guys and gals for kindly answering. Not sure why when you  do a "Disc" backup there isn't a box to check that will keep everything current automatically.

AOMEI Backuper Network unable to properly use credentials to access NAS

I have recently set up Backupper Network on our system and I am trying to get remote backup jobs working.

Currently some machines will happily use the supplied NAS credentials to log onto the NAS for the purpose of disk backup tasks while some machines fail.

The machines that fail state:
"Information Code:304
The number of network connections has exceeded maximum limit. Please try again later, or restart the computers on the network and retry."

Our NAS also shows it as a 'login failed for user <username>'. The backup task prompt accepts the login/password and is able to list directories just fine. I have tried various combinations and even set up a completely fresh user/password on the NAS for backupper but it still does not work.
I can use the same user/password successfully if I remote to the machine with VNC and run the backup job 'locally' targetting the NAS, I just cannot create the job on the backupper-network server. A bit annoying when you have a lot of machines to backup.

Any idea of what is wrong here?

Install Aomei

I have downloaded PAssist_Std.exe.
Every time I run it a message immediately appears that AOMEI has been installed, do you want to uninstall it?
Regardless of whether I choose yes or no, nothing happens.
Aomei does not appear in the W10 list of Apps, and Geek Uninstaller does not list the program

Please, how do I delete W10 partitions on a disk that is in a USB external case?
Once I have removed a damaged system, I want to reinstall.
