Hi,

I'm cloning a drive right now and aomei is "Analyzing volume". It was very fast until around 70-75% now it's at 82% and i've calculated that if it continues at this rate it's gonna last another 23 hours. Is it normal ? Is it gonna accelerate again ?

Any help would be much appreaciated :)

Just ran a System Backup, and during the Integrty Check, got this message:

    Information Code:4104

margin-right:0px; -qt-block-indent:0; text-indent:0px;">    Invalid image file. This file may be not complete or has been damaged, or it does not match with the current software

margin-right:0px; -qt-block-indent:0; text-indent:0px;">    version.

Ran the backup again and got the same message.

What does this mean to me? How do I get a valid image file?

Backups out of schedule

I have AOMEI Backupper Standard Free edition with Differential backups (DBs)scheduled to run and be verified every Friday at 6pm. I can understand a scheduled backup being run later than scheduled if the computer has not been switched on but, on two occasions, weeks apart, something has caused the schedule to run a day early and then again at the correct day and time a day later. My computer clock is set correctly and stable so does anyone know what might be causing the extra DB to run out of schedule?

Hello,

I am trying to create an USB stick by using AOMEI Partition Assistant. My System: Windows 10 OEM, 64-bit, UEFI. When I start Windows To Go Creator it is unable to find the setup file. I am asked to find either the install.wim or install.esd by browsing my system. Unfortunally I can not find any even so I searched while all files are visible. How can I solve this Problem?

Kind regards - fraukamp

Laptop won't boot after full disk image restore

$

My laptop will not boot. The error msg says:

"Reboot and select proper boot device..." so apparently it is not recognizing my hard drive as a boot device.

Here's what happened.  My laptop had a motherboard failure, but the HDD seemed okay.  I removed it and put it in a USB enclosure and performed a full disk image backup with Backupper onto an external drve.

I reinstalled the HDD in the laptop and sent it for repair.  It came back with a new motherboard, and the original HDD reformatted to a factory Windows 10 install.

I backed that install up with Backupper, and then attempted to restore my original disk image.  It appeared to complete okay.  But...

When I tried booting, I got that message above.  I checked the BIOS, and it lists the HDD as first boot device.

I have repeated the restore a few times, using a USB restore drive created from Backupper on another computer.  (Specified to legacy BIOS.)  I made sure to specify Universal Restore.  I restored each partition separately, specifying Universal Restore each time, and making sure the main drive was C:.  I still get "Reboot and select proper boot device."

The BIOS screeen still lists the HDD as the first boot device.  "Launch CSM" is Enabled.

I hope someone can help.  I am at wit's end. I am using the Professional version, by the way.
Thanks.

Does not work when cloning from one laptop to another (0xc0000225 winload.efi)

I bought a Razer Blade 14 last month.  It went on sale for $500 off, so I backed up the 1st one and restored to the 2nd one.

I tried Disk Backup and System Backup.  I created Windows PE Bootable media to restore the backup onto the new laptop.  With Disk Backup, the partition layout duplicated fine (Recovery 11.72GB NTFS, System 100MB fat32, c:Blade 226GB) where System Backup want to cram them into one partition.

Anyway, either way I try, I can't boot the target.  I just get a blue screen titled Recovery with 0xc0000225.  Pressing Enter to try again adds: File:\Windows\system32\winload.efi

Error code 214

Yes, I keep getting information code 214.  It says, "Not enough reserve space.  Please make big enough available space for target partition.  If you have checked the "align partition to optimize for SSD" option, uncheck it please and try again because this option will adjust partition accordingly and may cause this error."

I did not check this box and I'm not sure what to do at this point.  I'm at a loss, I am restoring to the same computer as I made the backup from so it's the same hard drive.

Any thoughts?

Clone HDD will not boot

I am trying to use AOEMI Backupper to create a bootable hard drive by cloning a bootable hard drive.  I have an internal 40 GB IDE HDD that I want to clone to another internal 40 GB IDE HDD so that the second drive is bootable (like the first drive is).  I have the source and target hard drives connected via external enclosures to a PC running Windows 7 and Backupper Standard 4.0.6.  (This is not the PC where the source HDD is normally installed.  I am only using this other PC in order to perform the clone operation.)  In Backupper I have used the Disk Clone function in the Clone tab.

Backupper completes the clone operation successfully.  The target drive mounts in Windows and I can see all the files that were cloned from the source drive.  However, when I install the target drive in the original PC, that PC will not boot.  On screen I see a message that says "Insert a system disk and press any key" (or something like that).

On my first clone attempt, I did not choose the Sector by Sector option in the Disk Clone.  I made a second clone attempt and I did choose the Sector by Sector option.  Backupper also completed my second clone attempt successfully.  Unfortunately, the second clone attempt would not boot the original PC either.

What am I missing?  Thanks in advance.

Difference between System Backup and Disk Backup

$

I have read the AOMEI discussion and am still confused. My C drive has my windows files (boot partition of course) and my other program files. All my data etc is on D drive. Does a system backup of C include all data on the C drive including all my programs?  If that is the case what is the difference between a C drive disk backup and a C drive sytem backup?? (my C drive is a ssd drive). The discussion at the AOMEI implies that only windows boot and windows system files would be backedup with system backup whereas disk backup would back up everything on that drive (including boot partition?).  When i checked the size of the backup shown for the system backup of C drive it seems like it was backing up the entire drive including all my other miscel programs loaded.

Backupper standard 3.2 file backup images not recognised

I can see my file backup images in Windows Explorer but if I try to import them I get the message:

"Unable to get the backup information because the image file does not exist, or can not be accessed, or has been damaged."

Is there a way to recover these file backups?

Bug: Disk Backupper Freezes the System

Hi,
my system freezes completely while trying to make disc image backups from my system drive (full backup).
I use Windows 10 x64 on a lenovo ThinkPad T540p, and a Samsung SSD with basic disc layout.
The Problem is independent of using VSS or AOMEIs own alternative.
Backupper writes around 25 MB to the external (USB3) hard drive, and according to Windows Resource Monitor it reads a lot of data with maximum speed from system-ssd, but don't write anything to the target drive. After some minutes Backuper stops reading from source-ssd. The system drive is somehow completely locked for any writes, but system tasks reads data from the disc. Because of the ongoing write lock the system freezes and i need to make a hard reset. I am somehow perplexed.

Thank you for any help.

How to properly clone a disk with more than 3 partitions?

$

I'd like to clone my SSD (250GB) with a dual boot system (Windows 10 and Ubuntu) to another larger SSD (500GB). But when I use AOMEI Backupper Standard application, it shows me the message "The source disk contains more than 3 partitions....." and sugests me to use Clone Partition after to clone the remaning partitions. How is the correct procedure to do this?

Here the image of my situation.

Log text files show negative lines of text

I have just installed AOMEI Backupper Free and straight away I checked the log files (in location “C:\Program Files(x86)\AOMEIBackupper\log” folder) and these files show a lot of negative sounding lines of text in them even before I have created a system backup. I attach three of the log files that are in readable text format. There is one other log file Reg.log that is not readable so I have not attached that one. Does this mean that any backups I create will not work when it comes to restoringfrom them or are these normal?

Wrong partition mounted from image

Hello,

when I want to mount with image explorer the second partition from an image with 2 backed up partitions, only the first partition is mounted, no matter what I select: the first, the second or both partitions. If both partitions are selected and mounted the corresponding virtual drives show the same - always the first - partition data.

I'am using Win10, tested with version 3.2 and 4.0.6

Regards,

Beno
