Differential backups
I have AOMEI Backupper Standard Free edition. Icreated the initial System backup (SB) and I have Differential backups (DBs) scheduledto run and verified every Friday at 6pm. These Differential images are backedup to a second internal hard drive and then I copy these images to an external500GB hard drive via USB3.0 connection so I have two copies. I believe that torestore everything only the SB and the latest DB are required, unlike Incrementalbackups (IBs) which require all images to be used. I therefore keep theoriginal SB and manually delete all but the last two DBs. I believe thatmanually deleting previous IBs causes damage to the version chain causing the IBsto become invalid. My question is am I correct in that manually deleting previousDBs (not IBs) will not damage any version chain causing the DBs to become invalidand that I can be sure that the restore will work when needed?

Backups out of schedule
I have AOMEI Backupper Standard Free edition with Differential backups (DBs)scheduled to run and be verified every Friday at 6pm. I can understand a scheduled backup being run later than scheduled if the computer has not been switched on but, on two occasions, weeks apart, something has caused the schedule to run a day early and then again at the correct day and time a day later. My computer clock is set correctly and stable so does anyone know what might be causing the extra DB to run out of schedule?

Backupper Standard now asks for registration
I have used Backupper Standard Free, I have year old copy, when intalled on new pc (Win7 Pro) asks for regitration when I try System back or Partition Backup. When I download Standard, file downloaded id BackupperFull. Even old copy gives registration message. How can I get realy free copy of Standard.

How to change scheme in free Backupper
I have nine backup tasks that all use the default backup scheme. Now I want to change the scheme for some of those tasks. I can get to to the form that seems like it should make the changes, but nothing is active. All the fields are grayed out. I then tried to make a new task and found the only scheme available is the default. How can I get the scheme I want?

Analyzing volume
Hi,
I'm cloning a drive right now and aomei is "Analyzing volume". It was very fast until around 70-75% now it's at 82% and i've calculated that if it continues at this rate it's gonna last another 23 hours. Is it normal ? Is it gonna accelerate again ?
Any help would be much appreaciated :)

Firewall requirements, for being able to detect a computer via AOMEI Backupper Network Beta?
I am testing out the AOMEI Backupper Network Beta, for my PC and my wife's PC, and I found that I cannot see her computer across the network unless I completely disable her firewall. (using Windows Firewall Control, fresh install)
What are the firewall rules we need to create, in order to allow a computer with AOMEI 4.5 installed to be visible to a computer across the network with AOMEI Backupper Network Beta?

What Am I Seeing When I Explore Incremantal Backup
I took a look at what was in my latest Incremantal Backup, and was supprised to see ALL of my files that are on the C: drive. I thought I would see only the ones that changed since the previous backup. I did notice that the file size of the Incremantal was way less than the Full Backup, so it seems like all of the files must not be included in the Incremantal. So how is it that I see all of them?

Invalid image file
Just ran a System Backup, and during the Integrty Check, got this message:
Information Code:4104
margin-right:0px; -qt-block-indent:0; text-indent:0px;"> Invalid image file. This file may be not complete or has been damaged, or it does not match with the current software
margin-right:0px; -qt-block-indent:0; text-indent:0px;"> version.
Ran the backup again and got the same message.
What does this mean to me? How do I get a valid image file?

Windows 10 cant be installed - unsupported disk layout for UEFI firmware
Hi all, hoping for some tips here. I've been using Win10 Home for ages, then suddenly it wont do windows updates anymore, i get the error in the title. It would seem that the pc is now trying to boot UEFI but the C: drive is MBR not GPT. From what i could find out so far, it also appears I have 2 options: 1. somehow switch off UEFI boot mode, back to Legacy, or 2. reformat the drive to GPT.
Windows version is 1511 currently, i can use MBR2GPT apparently but it seems quite complex, then i thought maybe AOMEI might do it. You see, i'm trying to avoid wiping the disk and setting it all up again. Can anyone give me exact steps on how to solve this ?

where is bcdedit in winPEx64? Love this alternative to MS WinPE. Lots of flexiability but I need bcdedit. The alternative sw BOOTICE appears too confusing to me. Also I dont see EFI support in BOOTICE

PE Builder Error - 0xc000000f
hi all...great products, great software. Many thx. I downloaded AOMEI PE Builder today and created *.iso. DVD booted and now presents error:
\windows\system32\stornvme.sys is missing and/or corrupt. Error 0xc000000f
What is going on? OS presently loaded is win8.1 Pro-64b and boots nicely when selected in Boot Manager.
Many thx...all help appreciated. Maybe I should copy stornvme.sys from Win 8.1 sys disk to C:\windows\system32????

Partition Assistant Causes Win10 Repair Mode
Hello,
I used Partition Assistant to clone my laptop's 500GB drive to a 1TB drive. The cloning completed without any errors. However, when I put the 1TB drive into the laptop and started it up, the laptop went to a screen that said "Preparing Automatic Repair", then to a screen that said "Diagnosing Your PC", and then to a screen that said "Automatic Repair couldn't repair your PC. Press 'Advanced Options' to try other options to repair your PC or 'Shut Down' to turn off your PC." This is Windows 10 with the most recent update.
Going to "Advanced Options" brings up three choices:
- Continue - Exit and continue to Windows 10
- Troubleshoot - Reset your PC or see advanced options
- Turn off your PC
I tried Continue, and it just looped around to the "Diagnosing Your PC" screen.
Then I checked out the Advanced Options screen, and tried every option that didn't require a prior system image. None of them worked.
The bottom line is that the cloning process failed badly.
I am writing for suggestions on how to make a successful clone of the original hard drive. If I can be guaranteed that it will succeed, I would have no problem buying the Pro version of Partition Assistant.

Backupper Clone Drive is Write Protected
Recently, I have been having some issues with my Dell Latitude laptop performance running Windows 10. At times, device properties are unavailable, restarts are very slow, and a couple of my USB flash drives somehow got write protected, etc. So, I just installed AOMEI Backupper to clone a new SSD to install in my system. The process completed and when I review my system and the new cloned drive in explorer, the drive(s) is preset but I get " the drive is not accessible", "the media is write protected".
I would appreciate any suggestions to 1) correct problems in my system and 2) replace/update my hard drive.

Why do you leave drivers in my System32 directory after uninstalling Your program?
After uninstalling AOMEI Backupper, it leaves garbage in your system32 directory in a form of drivers (ambakdrv.sys, ammntdrv.sys, amwrtdrv.sys). Removing these drivers whether manually or through autoruns will cause BSOD on Windows boot up. AOMEI Partition Assistant leaves ampa.sys in system32 dir.
Essentially breaking your windows. What you do is neither ethical not acceptable.

Is there a way to see which version of Aomei was used to create my ADI files ?
Second. If I give Aomei a crc or sha2 of the exe. Can ypu tell me if this Aomei download was a legit version issued by Aomei?

Error 4160
For about 2 weeks, all my backups are failing with this code, "Failed to open file". The directory being saved to is about 660GB, and the external drive it's on checks fine. Reboot doesn't solve the issue.
Is there any way to find out what file won't open? Is this referring to a file being backed up, or the backup file?
Would my next step be to make a new backup task and delete the old one?
