Hi there - I wonder if I might request your advice.
I have Aomei Backupper Professional installed and over time wrote several "disk backup" to an external diskdrive.
Recently, I discovered a corruption problem with the master boot record in Windows 10 and couldn't restart the computer as it was in a continual automatic repair loop. I determined it was advisable not to do a full restore from a disk backup as I would risk repeating the start up problem. I reinstalled windows 10 and now have a functioning computer.
I would now like to access my files and programs from a disk backup so I can copy them to the main drives. To do this, I had followed the instructions for the Aomei Backupper "Explore Image" function and can see a list of folders under new drive headings.
Unfortunately, when I try to access the user folders I am denied permission and then when I attempt to change the permissions to allow access, a dialogue box appears which states that "an error has occurred in applying security information". It also states that "The media is write protected." This means that I am unable to open the relevant folders or access files.
I would appreciate any advice to overcome this problem - especially the write protection.
Keep well
Paul
Hello guys I need some explanations about the recovery of my SSD (Disco0 ---> C:)
I use AOMEI to clone my windows 10 in the new SDD but in the process a unnecessary partition was created (E:); then the program has not allocated half of the disc who not result now in my computer (121,1 Gb)
My question is: how recover that 121.1 Gb not allocated and preserve my Windows in (C:)?
Thanks
I tried selecting a differential scheme and when I edit the backup it confirms that the scheme is enabled. Despite this the backup is always FULL. This is happening for both the backups I've defined.
My destination is a NAS. The files are successfuly written. I'm on the third cycle today and so far all the backups are for the full size of the data to be backed up
I'm unable to create a backup using OneKey Recovery - it just freezes (no error is shown).
I've determined the problem seems to be related to BitLocker.
OneKey won't proceed to the choose partition screen if my system drive is encrypted with BitLocker. No error is message is shown - but pressing the orange Next button has no effect. There is a 28GB unallocated partioned ready for OneKey to use.
If I disable BitLocker, OneKey proceeds as expected (offering to allocate the 28GB).
Is it not possible to use OneKey in combination with BitLocker?
We're considering OneKey Technician/Customization to add recovery images to our kiosk PCs...
Its almost perfect for our needs - but we need to password protect access to the F11/A recovery menu to prevent abuse.
Have you considered allowing a simple password to be set when the image is created?
Pressing F11/A would prompt for the password before permitting the backup/recovery process to run.
It would also be good if the customization module allowed us to disable the backup feature entirely within the F11 image and limit the recovery function to restore only the factory image (we created from within windows). This would prevent users browsing files on the drive via the backup/restore functionality - and restrict them to just performing a restore to factory image.
Hi
I have an issue. I have windows 10 pro creator
update I bought it. 1709 and I have a recovery partition that windows
created when I installed windows. I have another third party software
that I use called roll back rx if I run into problems So I don't need
this recovery partition. So I called the other third party partitioning
software company and they did a remote connect to my pc because I could
not delete the recovery partition in windows with disk part it said
Acsess is denied. So it was looking for some sort of permission and I
did not know how to do that. I only know for windows files or folders.
Not for Partitions so What the other tech did was he put some files on a
usb stick that I had plugged into my windows 10 Creators 1709 version
and he put a third party software of theres on it and I was able to boot
using the usb to the software and get into the shell or command
promptand I ran the disk part againand it worked I was able to delete
that recovery partition and turn it into unallocated disk space. now
that I'm back in windows I cannot merge the unallocated disk space back
to the c drive and extend the c partition to that I can use it the
options are not there or there greyed out in windows disk managment and
all the partitioning software that I have tried. And I do not know how
to do it with disk part in windows 10. So I was wondering if you guys
could maybe tell me how. Oh the file system says it's Unallocated. It
says the partition can only merge ntfs and fat 32 Partitions The file
system is unknown.
I've been trying out AOMEI Backerupper Pro 4.02 as a replacement for Acronis True Image, and everything looked fine for the first two weeks. But now when I try to Explore my largest data partition backup which has 2 incremental backups, Windows crashes in ammntdrv.sys immediately after Backerupper successfully mounts the image. Explore worked fine when there was one incremental backup. Everything is still fine when I Explore the other backups on the drive that are smaller and have only one increment. The problem backup is reported as 100% ok when I have Backerupper check it. I even tried exploring the backup file on another system with Backerupper installed, but it gets the same crash in ammntdrv.sys (one system is Win7, the other is Win10). Any ideas?
I have made a "Disk Backup" with the software AOMEI Backupper Standard
(ver 4.06). When I use AOMEI's "Explore Image" feature opening one of
the folders (in the backup) causes a blue screen. This is the blue screen
error: Stop code:PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA What failed:
ammntdrv.sys . Opening the original folder in Windows causes no errors.
I have deleted the backup and created it again, the same error exists.
Each time I checked the integrity of the backup and it tests
successfully. Other disk backups do not present this issue. I have also reinstalled and updated AOMEI. And I have used the "Check Image" feature with no result.
Thanks for the help!

I've got a problem with System Restore on a Surface Pro 4: before sending my
device to repair, I did a system backup with Backupper. I did a simple System Backup without any extra options.
Now I got back a new device in exchange (exact same model and specs!) but
System Restore tells me the target disk is to small!
From what I can
tell, in System Restore I need to choose a target *partition*, but the
backup also contains the boot partition - wich makes it 400MB bigger
then the target partition (C:). The "continue" button stays greyed out - no way to restore.
When I do a seperate restore on both the partitions in the backup, afterwards the device won't boot and tells me it needs repair.
I even purchased Backupper Professional, as the website says it can restore even to a smaller disk, but IT JUST WON'T DO IT.
HOW
can I simply do a System Restore when Backupper won't even count in
that there are two partition in the System backup??? This is a serious
BUG!
Please help !
If I make a copy of one computer and want to restore it on another computer, the computer name is the same. This creates a network conflict.
Which version allows you to rename your computer automatically.

I have created an ISO using PE Builder 2.0. I then used this ISO with PXE Boot to boot several different types of PC's using legacy boot. This all worked OK. I then switched two of them to UEFI boot, and tried again. This time the PXE client on the PC's could not find a PXE server. However they did when the PC's were set to legacy boot. I have turned off the firewall on the server PC but this has had no effect. Any suggestions as to what may be going wrong?
When I try to create a recovery partition or a recovery image I get "Reboot mode failed". The program tells me that it will need to boot Windows PE mode. I don't know what that means. What am I doing wrong?
I have a 128GB SD card I use as my Aoemei Backupper Pro backup location. The card is plugged in to the SD slot on my Dell XPS15 Windows 10 laptop.
I can successfully schedule file backups to the SD card, but when I try to schedule a full system backup I get a 4103 failed to write error immediately after a backup starts.
The SD card is exfat formatted with a 128 kilobyte allocation size. For Backupper settings I am using the defaults.
If I use a partition on my hard drive for the full system backup location the backup is successful.
Any suggestions on how to troubleshoot this problem?
