Hello, if I Aomei back upper used for server and there hiring inkremtal Backup he usually makes every day a full backup, although they change very little data. For example, the backup file is 1.1 TB in size, the next is 1.1 TB in size again.
Aomei backupper server by incremrntal backup most full backup?
OneKey: Backup up entire "system disk" or just the "system partition"?
In my reading so far of OneKey, it keeps mentioning "system disk". My hard disk (HDD0) has 2 primary partitions: Partn1 = Windows+Apps+Data and Partn2 = data (which is not to be included in backups because its files are too huge and reproducible, like downloads or ISO images of CDs). I only want HDD0 Partn1 (C: drive) to get backed up to the recovery image. I do NOT want the entire HDD0 to get backed up because that will waste space to save files in HDD0 Partn2 that I do not want in the backup image.
Does OneKey only create backup images for entire disks (i.e., all partitions on the disk) or can the OS partition be selected to get backed up (well, MBR+Partition)?
AOMEI Backupper - Status / logs of a backup job running as service
Hi,
I have recently installed AOMEI Backupper to create a partition backup of my SSD (which only contains a single partition) to my RAID5.
This is scheduled to run once a week as a Windows service.
The first time I ran it ad-hoc and the backup worked. The first scheduled run was supposed to have yesterday night, but as my PC was powered off, it ran (tried?) to run this morning, when I powered on my PC.
However, things didn't go as planned. After my PC was on for a couple minutes, I got a blue screen saying "driver_power_state_failure". In the log files I found following error code: 0x8007000.
When I checked the folder that contains the backups, there was a 0 byte file called "Crucial SSD2.adi" (besides the "Crucial SSD.adi" that was created ad-hoc).
When I checked again later that day, the file "Crucial SSD2.adi" became 14GB.
However, when using the AOMEI gui, I don't find any log files from today?
I also don't see the new backup in the list of backups for that backup job?
When manually browsing for the file to check it, AOMEI says "Invalid Image File".
My questions:
Where does AOMEI logs backups started by the service? (it must at least say somewhere that it started a backup, no??)
Can I see the progress of a backup running as a service somehow?
Any idea what this blue screen might be?
Thanks!
How do I only retain a certain number of backups with the Pro edition as I once read?
I had read prior to buying the Pro edition that it was possible with this edition to retain only a certain number of backups. Therefore, that if I only wanted to retain 5 backups of a certain folder or files when a sixth backup is initiated the oldest backup would be deleted from the system. How is this possible?
Aomeibackupper copies not all files.
Aomeibackupper standart, after creating system backup, I decided to explore the image and I saw that my system backup image does not containe *.ost file of Outlook! Why does the program copies not all the files from the system partition? And what files it does not copies else?
New install Error 4103 repeated
Used Backupper before I rebuilt my Win10 system. Tried to run it for an incremental and it failed with Error 4103. Checked and had to take ownership of the target disk for backups. Tried again -- Error 4103. Reformatted the target disk and tried again. Error 4103. Uninstalled Backupper and reinstalled. Tried to back up and got 13 Gb on the target disk, but failed with Error 4103. What other troubleshooting can I do?
AOMEI Partition Assistant Standard Edition 6.0 - Split partition
While using AOMEI Partition Assistant Standard Edition 6.0 to split a partition, what is "allow partition alignment to optimize the performance of SSD" in Advanced button?
What does it mean and what does it do?
My system already has a SSD for fast bootup and I'm trying to split my Drive C which is running Windows. As I only have one drive of usable space, I don't want to put my data inside Windows Drive as if corrupted, I couldn't get back my data. Hence I want to create a partition.
Please advice whether I should select "allow partition alignment to optimize the performance of SSD"?
Thanks in advance.
AOMEI Backupper with BitLocker Encryption
I recently enable Bitlocker on my computer. Ever since my 'System' backups have been HUGE.
I deleted my backup scheme and started over but I am still getting HUGE backups.
It appears AOMEI is doing 'Sector by Sector' backups even though I am using "Intelligent Sector Backup".
My system drive only has 456Gigs of 'used space' but a 'Full Backup' is using 796Gigs! The total capicity of the C: drive is 837Gigs.
Please advise.
Restoring with Incremental
I have a full backup and one incremental. When doing a restore it only lets me choose one image. Which do I choose?

reboot failure after HDD cloning
Hello,
I had some problems with my HP pavilion and was dusting of my HP recovery disc. Guess what. They did not work. Thank you HP...
I reinstalled win81 on HDD1-300GB and on HDD2-1TB because I tested the recovery discs on the 2 HDDs.
After that I did a microsoft image disc to avoid 6h reinstalling and multible reboot and patch updates...
It generated the image but when testing it on HDD2 it did not work. No image detected. Thank you Microsoft.
I turned to Backupper and generated a disc image on HDD 1. I generated a PE boot CD.
I put in HDD2 and booted from the backupper boot CD and had the image on a USB stick.
The recovery worked without notifications but when rebooting with HDD2 it did not boot.
I attached is a picture of what is presentad at boot.
The only additional info I get is that no boot partition present.
I did not change any advanced setting - only used preselected.
I still have the USB image and boot CD so I could retry - but I already did the reinstall of win 81 from scratch ----SIGH
Can anyone see our explain what wight have gone wrong or what I have done wrong? As I cannot see what was done incorectly. I used acronis previously but my lisence does not cover UEFI so I wanted to try something different.
thank you
Partition Assistant seemingly borked my system
Hi!
Recently bought a new Asus laptop in January. The machine came with an 1Tb HDD, with two partitions: a 380GB OS C: drive, and a 580GB Data D: drive. First thing I did when I got my machine was to move the My Documents, Pictures, etc folders and basically where the data should go over to the D: drive, which was totally unused by the machine unless I told it too. However turns out it filled pretty fast. The D: drive was at 85% capacity by earlier this week and my C: drive was at a meager 20%. Realized the partitions are weirdly proportioned. So I decided to move some of the space from the C: drive to the D: drive. Installed the partition assistant earlier, set it to lower C: to 150GB, and merge that free space into D:. Also worth mentioning that there was an unamed, 300Mb recovery partition between both, so another step was required to move this small drive out of the way to merge.
Rebooted to let the magic happen, and it was seemingly uneventful. Left it to run for a while, and after about an hour it was done. Logged in to my account, to find myself stuck under a torrent of system errors. Namely "*/system32/VERSION.dll" was broken, or something along the lines. All of my D: drive is seemingly unharmed, and according to the overview, the partition tweaks worked, but the C: drive seems to be messing up. Avast refuses to launch, as well as the Partition Assistant. I havent tested them all but a large amount of programs seem broken and dont want to launch either. Windows notified me of drive errors, and I restarted to allow it to repair them, but without success. My wireless mouse is not being recognized anymore. Some of my settings went back to factory defaults, namely my keyboard layout. The list of issues piles on.
So... What the hell?? I have a backup of my data drive, but honestly the last thing I want to do right now is format my system and reinstall windows. Honestly I dont understand how things could go this badly.
Information Code 4161 (Sync with Backupper Free)
Hi,
I just dowloaded the Backuppe free version to try it out. While I was trying to sync two folders, it stopped somewhere in the middle with information code 4161.
I was trying to sync a folder on my notebook with one on an USB-hard-disk (integrated in my home network). I can get access to this USB-hard-disk drive from within my home network from any PC. Also, there is plenty of free space on it.
The synchronisation worked for several folders and files, but stoppe somewhere in the middle.
Could you help me, pls? I can send you the log files, should I?
Thanks!
Bianca
Allocate Free Space is grayed out
I have the paid version of Partition Assistant and the one server that I bought it for, the allocate free space option is grayed out. For testing, I installed it on another server and it shows up fine.
How do I get it to show up on the main server?
disk backup vs. system backup
gents,
a newbie - so this question is perhaps trivial but i don't understand.
my laptop is a w7-64bit w/ssd having 148gb of storage wit 112gb 'used' and 36.2gb 'free'
i did a 'system backup' and then a 'disk backup'.
the 'system backup' tok 75,278,825kb
the 'disk backup' took 75,105,285kb
these numbers should be much different, yes? the 'disk backup' in general should be larger than the 'system backup', yes?
is there a way to compare the lists of the folders that were part of each of the backups? i took the backups using whatever aomei had as defaults - i made no changes - this was my first test. so i'm curious what aomei would back up in each case.
so, i apologize for the low level of the question; but i'm trying to learn.
please steer me to what i should read/research to come up the curve.
thanks,
rny1aomei
Error 4104: Image fails to verify
I have been using AOMEI Backupper for a couple of years without any problems. Recently it has failed to verify backup images. Error 4104.
If I do the backup and verify as a continuous exercise the backup is not listed in the AOMEI program app although it can be found on the disk via windows explorer.
If I do the backup without a verify then it is available via the program app and the image can be fully explored and all looks OK. If I then 'Check Image' it fails with the same error message.
The log file is large but the section relating to the failure is shown below:

Operating System: Windows 10 on a Dell XPS 2720
I regularly backup separately to two external Hard Disks; Seagate 3TB and a WD 2TB. The issue occurs on whichever disk is used.
I am using AOMEI 3.2. I reinstalled this and also tried reinstalling 3.1. This did not solve the problem.
I have run CHKDSK on the PC and the external drives and no errors are shown.
On the PC I also ran dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth and sfc /scannow and all is OK.
I have also run the backup without compression in case this was the issue (only saves 10% of space) but this did not help either.
I have noticed, via the forums, that similar problems have happened to other users but no solution has been forthcoming.
I can run windows built in system image backup which appears to function correctly (although I have not attempted a restore from this).
The AOMEI Backupper is a terrific program and it would be most helpful if I could be assisted in getting this issue resolved

Moving an OS from an SSD > HD to fix an issue with a windows raid driver not loading.
Short version... It worked but for an unknown reason the disk lost all data 3 days later.
New version... got a new disk and tried again...
30 hours later 15% had moved so I cancelled the process and downloaded the latest version of the software
NOW... on boot after using the Wizzard the pre OS message appears but the boot process continues and I'm back in windows on the SSD.

Checking an Image is very long
Hi, I have a backup made by a full and 3 differential backup with a total of 194GB. The last differential backup was made this morning. At the end I tried to make a check of the whole image using Advanced --> Check Image but after 2 and half hours it was only at 8% of the total. Why the check is so slow?
EDIT: sorry I found that the problem was due to the ethernet connection...
