Incremental backup just made an full backup - why?

$

0

I'm testing AOMEI's Incremental backup-system, and it works fine for me.
I started the full-backup and made a small incremental backup after the full one (the next day). But today, i can see that there is a file with the size of the full backup (25 GB). The file is numbered in following order from the previous one.
What's happening?
Isn't the purpose of incremental backups, that it shouldnt take up a lot of space?

AOMEI Backupper - Status / logs of a backup job running as service

$

Hi,

I have recently installed AOMEI Backupper to create a partition backup of my SSD (which only contains a single partition) to my RAID5.

This is scheduled to run once a week as a Windows service.

The first time I ran it ad-hoc and the backup worked. The first scheduled run was supposed to have yesterday night, but as my PC was powered off, it ran (tried?) to run this morning, when I powered on my PC.

However, things didn't go as planned. After my PC was on for a couple minutes, I got a blue screen saying "driver_power_state_failure". In the log files I found following error code: 0x8007000.

When I checked the folder that contains the backups, there was a 0 byte file called "Crucial SSD2.adi" (besides the  "Crucial SSD.adi" that was created ad-hoc).

When I checked again later that day, the file "Crucial SSD2.adi" became 14GB.

However, when using the AOMEI gui, I don't find any log files from today?

I also don't see the new backup in the list of backups for that backup job?

When manually browsing for the file to check it, AOMEI says "Invalid Image File".

My questions:

Where does AOMEI logs backups started by the service? (it must at least say somewhere that it started a backup, no??)

Can I see the progress of a backup running as a service somehow?

Any idea what this blue screen might be?

Thanks!

Aomei Onekey Recovery - without boot option

Good morning everyone!

I'm sorry for my English. . . Not my native language. . .

Yesterday, Lenovo G40 80, Windows 10 failed. Showed the following message:

Your PC / device needs to be repareid.

The configuration data boot for your pc is missing or contains error

File: | EFI \ Microsoft \ Boot \ BCD

Error code: 0xc000014c

You'll need to use recovery tools. If you do not have any installation medium like device, contact your pc administraor or PC / device manufacturer.

Given the above, it was not possible to access the Windows recovery option (There was no drive option - missing / blocked) and, also, there was no recovery option by Aomei OneKey Recovery.

How to proceed?

NOTE: boot non-conformity corrected via diskpart.

Thanks for your attetion!

Hello!

I'm am Administrator and strart the program as Administrator.

2.

I don't know... Do you need any comments? The service cannot start due to the port is busy... And it's busy by... PXEBoot.exe!

Of course I've tried to relaunch PXEBoot.exe but it didn't help.

Could you please help me to fix this problems?

Thank you!

I have a 16tb drobo drive (24tb raid) that I want an additional backup to a 16tb raid 5 with redundancy (24tb) the drobo drive has my entire video collection (4500 movies) When AOMEI starts the backup it says the volume shadow copy is not available and the starts the backup (without VSC?) I have VSC set to automatic and the task manager says it's running.

What am I doing wrong.

Also I did what I thought was a total back up of 13tb of video which resulted in a 600gb file. A week later I did an incremental backup which used up all of the 15tb of the backup drive. I had only added maybe 100 gb between the two backups. so was the first backup faulty. Or will fixing my VSC problem solve this.

Unfortunately I can not continue working during the backup. Is there any place to set the priority to low?

Windows to Go not working

Hi there,

I'm trying to install a Windows 8.1 OS on my USB 3.0 hard drive, the AOMEI Window To Go procedure goes fine but when I start the HP notebook computer (previously changed the boot order to USB drive) it doesn't load the Windows 8.1 on that partition.

I tried 2 different HDD, 1TB WD passport and 750Gb Seagate, 2.5'' first 3.5'' second.

Could you help me please?

I am running Backupper Server 3.1 on SBS2011. I have backups scheduled and running properly, but i also like to make a full disk clone once a week to go in conjunction with my RAID setup. is there a script to set this up, or a way through the gui? i am trying to avoid creating my own script as i do not have the time.. thanks

PE Builder 1.5 Error RAID 0 Intel RST 14.6

I am try to build a Win PE to include RAID drivers Intel RST 14.6 on a Win 7 Pro 64 bit. The Win PE builds, and loads to error driver viaide.sys missing. There are no ide harddrives on the computer though viaide.sys does exist on the computer C:\Windows\System32\drivers and two other locations.

Would installing Windows 7 ADK solve this problem?

Also in your further notes to using Aomei Win PEbuilder:

"For instance, to make Windows PE can recognize your RAID hard disk, you
can add RAID controller driver to Windows PE. However, you should make
sure that the driver kit is complete before adding it to Windows PE and
select the right INF installation file. Otherwise, the hardware cannot
run though added successfully."

"driver kit is complete" is confusing. The Win PEbuilder add driver only allows for .inf of which there are two iaAHCIC.inf and iaStorAC.inf, but there are other files that are not .inf in installing Intel RST 14.6. Can the PE run the intel RAID only on these two .inf files? How can I add the other files if they are need.

Thanks,

Mark

AOMIE PE Builder bootable media blue screen

Hello,

When I boot with AOMIE PE Builder 1.4 bootable media it finishes with a solid blank blue screen.  I am running Windows 8.1

I have created ISO, bootable CD and bootable thumbdive.  All three produce the same result.

The ISO I have booted with in VM Workstation under various machine settings along with the CD and thumbdrive and all produce the same blue screen.

Creating a simple windows PE bootable disk works fine but that is not what I want.  MiniTool bootable media also works fine but that is linux based and not as elegant.  Everthing needs to work before I purchase software.   Looking forward to your solution.

Cheers!

AOMEI Partition Assistant Standard Edition 6.0 - Split partition

While using AOMEI Partition Assistant Standard Edition 6.0 to split a partition, what is "allow partition alignment to optimize the performance of SSD" in Advanced button?

What does it mean and what does it do?

My system already has a SSD for fast bootup and I'm trying to split my Drive C which is running Windows. As I only have one drive of usable space, I don't want to put my data inside Windows Drive as if corrupted, I couldn't get back my data. Hence I want to create a partition.

Please advice whether I should select "allow partition alignment to optimize the performance of SSD"?

Thanks in advance.

Error 4104: Image fails to verify

I have been using AOMEI Backupper for a couple of years without any problems.  Recently it has failed to verify  backup images. Error 4104.

If I do the backup and verify as a continuous exercise the backup is not listed in the AOMEI program app although it can be found on the disk via windows explorer.

If I do the backup without a verify then it is available via the program app and the image can be fully explored and all looks OK. If I then 'Check Image' it fails with the same error message.

The log file is large but the section relating to the failure is shown below:

I regularly backup separately to two external Hard Disks; Seagate 3TB and a WD 2TB. The issue occurs on whichever disk is used.

I am using AOMEI 3.2. I reinstalled this and also tried reinstalling 3.1. This did not solve the problem.

I have run CHKDSK on the PC and the external drives and no errors are shown.

On the PC I also ran dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth and sfc /scannow and all is OK.

I have also run the backup without compression in case this was the issue (only saves 10% of space) but this did not help either.

I have noticed, via the forums, that similar problems have happened to other users but no solution has been forthcoming.

I can run windows built in system image backup which appears to function correctly (although I have not attempted a restore from this).

The AOMEI Backupper is a terrific program and it would be most helpful if I could be assisted in getting this issue resolved

Does OneKey usurp the MBR bootstrap code, add to BCD, or both?

$

From a pic of OneKey at http://www.aomeitech.com/forum/plugins/ameditor/js/php/upload/20160224/14562967648968.jpg, there are the options:

- Enable the boot menu.

- Add ... to Windows boot manager.

The 2nd option appears to add OneKey to the BCD of Windows to add another entry there.  I already have Windows 7 and Macrium Reflect listed there so presumably OneKey would get added as another selection there.  What I am most interested is the 1st option.  Does that mean in an MBR hardware config (which is what I have) that the 446-byte bootstrap section of the MBR get usurped (replaced) by OneKey's boot code?  Only one bootstrap program can be there so sometimes there is a conflict with who gets to be there.  For example, Acronis TrueImage has their bootstrap program that will usurp the MBR bootstrap area.  If OneKey does the same then I lose that Acronis' rescue method and have to revert to using their bootable CD.

I may still decide to use OneKey but I need to plan on who gets to usurp the MBR bootstrap.  There have been boot managers that will chain multiple bootstrap programs (by using the unused first track containing the unassignable first sector used for the MBR); however, the vast majority of programs that usurp the MBR bootstrap are are corrosive in that they don't share and they do not chain themselves with whatever code was there before.

Often I try to read online documentation on a product before it gets installed.  Then I know what it does and how it works to determine if it will meld well into my current software configuration.  Nope, no online doc for OneKey.  Nothing available at http://www.backup-utility.com/help/index.html.  An online doc on OneKey might tell me what the first and second options do in the above dialog.  For example, I might decide to enable the 2nd option and have OneKey added as another entry in Windows BCD but not enable the 1st option because I already have a program that usurped the standard bootstrap code that used to be there.  Other info an online doc might tell me is where the OneKey partition could be stored.  Although external media is listed as supported, my recollection is OneKey wants its partition on the same disk as where is the MBR that has the partition tables and bootstrap code that the BIOS loaded into memory and to which it transferred control.  So I have to wonder why external media is listed as supported if the recovery partition cannot be there.  The pic of OneKey's dialog to which I linked has a timeout for the 1st option.  I understand that one as it decides how long to display the option when booting.  I don't understand why there is a timeout setting for the 2nd option.  How is that different than what the user configures in BCD to show its list of selections?  An online doc would probably answer many questions.

Booting Backupper through YUMI-Boot-Stick, Windows10, black Screen after "loading files"

$

Hello,

I m booting AOMIE Backupper through YUMI-2.0.2.0-Boot-Stick.
Works great since quite a while with several computers.

Now, booting an Acer Aspire R13 ( R7-372T-746N 2in1 Intel Core i7-6500U 8GB 512GB SSD WQHD IPS Touch-Display
Windows 10 RAID 0)

screen turns and remains black after "loading files".

Can I set screen Resolution lower ?
This (menu.lst in YUMI):

--------

find --set-root --ignore-floppies --ignore-cd /multiboot/ISOS/AomeiBackupperPE.iso
map --heads=0 --sectors-per-track=0 --mem /multiboot/ISOS/AomeiBackupperPE.iso (hd32)
map --hook
root (hd32)
chainloader (hd32)
--------

doesn t work.

Or maybe it is a RAID 0 issue ?

Thanks a lot.

Cheers!

Onekey Recovery ISO file failure

Hi, I wonder if you can help.

I have a freesh install of Windows Vista Home Premium x86 running on a HP laptop with a 160Gb HDD. This is set up currently with 120Gb allocated and 40Gb unallocated.

I have installed Onekey Recovery 1.2 and am trying to run the Onekey System Backup for the first time.

When I press the system backup button, i choose the option to back up to AOMEI Recovery Partition, then next.

I get a screen telling me to preview and confirm changes, Onekey wants to create a 12.46Gb partition. I click "start backup"

I then see a progress bar - this goes to 25% - marking system partition. Then Creating Windows PE. It goes to 36%, then 42%, then 100% with the message "Creating ISO file failed". I have reinstalled the application numerous times, and I always get the same error.

What am I doing wrong? Do you need any more information to be able to help me?

Thanks in advance,

Darren

Moving an OS from an SSD > HD to fix an issue with a windows raid driver not loading.

Short version... It worked but for an unknown reason the disk lost all data 3 days later.

New version... got a new disk and tried again...

30 hours later 15% had moved so I cancelled the process and downloaded the latest version of the software

NOW... on boot after using the Wizzard the pre OS message appears but the boot process continues and I'm back in windows on the SSD.
