windows says raw and AOMEI NTFS

$

Thank you for this resource and letting me use the software to save my files. I am broke this month bit I will pay if this program is able to help me recover my lost data... over 400 GB.

I have a new, to me, mother board and it is having hardware issues with my video card. I installed my SATA hybred drive to the mother board and started getting errors on the drive. I made some changes and used mly laptop to fix errors on the drive. It worked fine in my laptop for a day. Then I installed it back to the PC with the new mother board. I decided to run checkdisk. Check disk said it needed to unmount the partition/drive and said ok and then nothing. no scan and the computer became very slow so I rebooted. Now two of the partitions are being seen by windows drive manager program as raw and zero size. I found AOMEI by searching File Forim. AOMEI sees the drive size and the free space so I know my data is there. I am 60 paecent done scanning the drive with AOMEI recovery wizard and the scan in finding lost partitions but not the so called raw ones. I believe that your program does not see then as lost. I tried the error scan in AOME and it said it found errors. When I click to fix the problems another window asks to fix over and over.... I did this a lot of times and it seem to not be working correctly.

I noticed the option to change drive type. If I change to NTFS could this help windows to see the drive?

I've just installed Backupper standard and now get an error about there not being enough space.  I have approx 4.5TB of free storage free but it's stopped after backing up just 249GB.

Any ideas?

I have sent the requested information - the log folder and crash.dmp file, but have not heard back.  This purchased software was for a server, therefore urgent.

These problems appeared with the introduction of the 3.x version.

Crashed backup file recovery

The backupper could not finish the backup process due a HDD read failure. (not backupper's fault) The backup process was forcefully interrupted at 98%. Backup file is stored on a NAS, but Bacupper complains that the file is incomplete and corrupt.

My question is - is there a way to recover the data from the stored 98%? To "repair" the backup file, so it can be mounted?

I don't know... Do you need any comments? The service cannot start due to the port is busy... And it's busy by... PXEBoot.exe!

Of course I've tried to relaunch PXEBoot.exe but it didn't help.

Could you please help me to fix this problems?

Backupper shows "Assertion failed!

Hi,

Every time I am trying to do an incremental file backup to NAS i get this:

Assertion failed!

File: .\FlbFileRegion.cpp

line 73,

expression: 0==(pEnt->cbEnt%DEFAULT_ENTRY_SIZE

It did properly the initial complete backup and then 3 increments but then for the last 3 days fails with this message.

I check and it does it if I force it to do an incremental backup as well.

Please note that the system image backup to the same NAS works perfectly everyday.

Any clues what is wrong?

Thx,

Tom

When is next release expected?

Hi, 3.2 has been around for a long period now in comparison to previous releases... When can we expect a new release?. We, the users, usually get upset when we realize software is not being updated for a relatively long time... We start to questions things... perhaps a bit obsesive, I know, but this backup apps world is always in constant change and I have suffered it before.

Logfile für USB DataBackupper creation errors and USB boot errors?

$

I tried to create an Aomei DataBackupper v3.2 installation under 64bit win 7 on a USB flash drive.

On one computer the creation failed without any further details.

Is there a log file which shows more information WHY the creation failed?

Then I went to another 64bit Win 7 computer and here the generation was successful.

Then I went back to the first computer rebooted with the USB flash drive mounted.

At first DataBackupper starts to load files but then suddenly the Windows Repair and Recovery panel was shown.

Obviously the booting on this Computer does not work with USB-based Aomei Data Backupper.

Is here a logfile available as well WHY the booting fails?

The USB flash drive works in general. In the past I put various other software on it and booted on the same computer without problems.

Furthermore DVD-based Aomei DataBackupper works as well.

Can "Universal Restore" be harmful? Necessary when change of graphic card (only)?

$

As far as I understand users should tick the checkbox "Universal Restore" when restoring an existing backup archive to a completely new computer.

What about if I want to restore an existing backup archive to the original computer where (only) the graphic/video card has changed in the meanwhile?

When is a computer "new"?

Does it cause problems when I tick always "Universal Restore"? What are the disadvantages?

I'm running Backupper 3.2 with Windows 10 on a Surface 3. I'm having trouble with step 1 of partition backup. There is no drive "c" to choose.

30 day trial version of professional backupper expired before I could even try it.

I have tried  the freeware Backupper a couple of months ago but did not use it (because of lack of clone function) and I uninstalled it. I now have new disk hardware ready for cloning my system. I have read many good reports of this software. I have no intension of cheating the system, but can you tell me how I can try professional software.

Does AOMEI Backuper support the new M.2 slot PCIe 3.0 x4 disk drives?

$

I am thinking about buying the new Samsung 950 Pro disk drive. This drive installs in the M.2 slot on the motherboard and utilizes PCIe 3.0 x4 express lanes which results in read speeds of 1.5 GB/s.

After reading reviews about this disk drive I have discovered that people are finding it difficult to find backup software that will support this drive. One person wrote that Acronis 2015 would not recognize the drive and others have reported similar problems with other backup software.

Does anyone using Aomei backuper have any experience using this disk drive?

System backup vs. disk backup

$

I have read different posts about this subject but I have still not found a resolution to my specific situation concerning the question of, should I do a system backup or a disk backup, because everyone starts muddying up the waters with talk of partitions and disks and drives.

My question is, if everything is on just one drive with no partitions, and that drive is the only thing on your disk, is there still a difference between a system backup and a disk backup? In my case, I have an internal 2T HDD that is labeled "Disk 0" and the only thing on that disk is a drive that has been labeled "C:" which contains everything in one primary partition.  I am backing up to an external 2T HDD that is "Disk 1" containing drive "E:" and I have done both types of backup using AOMEI Backupper (Free Version) and when I check the properties of both of these files, they are the same size.  Am I wrong in assuming that, in my situtation where everything on the HDD is included in one drive, there is no difference between the two types of backup, or is there some other difference between the two types of backup that matters when it comes time to restore the system or retrieve files?  I've seen talk of being able to boot from the drive which has also added confusion to the issue.

Thanks in advance for your time & attention.

Uninitialized component or function cell

$

Hi.

I have a new PC with Windows 8.1 Pro 64 installed and all updates applied.  It is installed on an SSD.  I have Backupper 2.0 Standard installed.

I successfully created a System Backup on the HDD, creating a total of three .adi files using the inbult split function for DVDs.  I also created a WinPE based recovery  boot CD.

I was able to successfully do a system restore by booting with the CD and using the files on the HDD.

I copied the three .adi files to DVDs using the Windows inbuilt burner program.

I tried to boot from CD and do a system restore from DVD.  After booting the PC, I replaced the CD with DVD 1 and set the file path to the DVD.  Backupper requested the last DVD of the set which I placed in the DVD drive.  Backupper then reported the error message "Uninitialized component or function cell".

Thinking the DVD may be corrupt, I copied the three .adi files from the DVDs to the HDD, created MD5 checksums for the original and copied files on the HDD, and found that the checksums of the copied files matched the original files, indicating no errors on the DVDs.

I then tried to boot from the CD and do a system restore using the files copied back from the DVDs and this was successful.

It is clear that the boot CD is OK, and that the backup DVDs are OK.

Thinking that the problem might have occurred because I removed the boot CD, I created a WinPE based recovery USB drive.  This was also unsuccessful.  It reported the same error message "Uninitialized component or function cell".

Why is it that the attempt to restore from the DVDs failed ?

What could I do differently that might work ?

Tried 3times, 2 with CD, 1 with DVD to create a boot disc and each time it proceeds through all steps and stops at 99%.  Trying to do anyting then opens a box to "cancel" or "wait for completion".
