Unable to Restore: Error

I'm having some troubles restoring a backup I created with AOMEI Backupper.  I keep receiving the same error, which is that the filenames are too long and that I need to restore to the original location.  However, I am doing this because I migrated my drive to an SSD which is now C: and it's smaller than the archive, which is typical.  There is no way for me to go back and rename the files because they are already archived.  I have tried both restoring as well as creating an image to explore, and I receive the error in both situations.  The error I received most recently was

I've seen other threads about this issue but they are either a) unresolved or b) I tried the solution (either Explore Image or restore to original location) and it didn't work.

Invalid Partition Table on Disk Restore

I have technician license of AB. A user asked me to back up his new computer disk as it came from Dell so he could put back to factory if something failed. I performed a disk backup as requested and then performed a restore to test. When the computer tried to boot after the restore, I received "Invalid Partition Table" and it would not boot. This is a Dell laptop with 512GB SSD running Windows 7.

Do you have ideas on why it failed?

Backuper 4098 error, trying partition assistand MBR-GPT but worried...

Hello.
So iv finaly installed my windows and wanted to backup a copy to keep it safe. Installed Aomei backuper and chose the backup feature I wanted and error 4098. After browsing the web it seems aomei cannot backup hard drives with MBR form drives even if that is a windows standard?
Anyway So I got a tip that aomei partition assistant might change my MBR discs to GPT. Found the option, but when I chose this it stated that my system partition and boot partition is on the same disc and that the system wil be unable to boot... So Im wondering if Iv partitioned the drives wrong and if there are something I can do before to fix it?

My drives are as following:
1. drive has 3 partitions:
- 100mb windows files(boot partition) "active  and primary"
- Windows installation, main drive. "boot and primary"
- Storage partition, "primary"

2. drive,1 partition

- Storage, "primary"

So im wondering is it one of the other partitions either on the 2. drive or the first that I need to change first? or is there not anyway to go from MBR to GTP and still have a booting working HDD? because the boot and system partition seems to be on the same drive.

WTV Recordings not backed up.

Something that bugged me for a long time.
Running Windows 7 and doing a backup of my data, there is a folder named 'Recorded TV' where Media Centre stores WTV files.
The contents of the folder do not get backed up by Backupper (or the Microsoft imaging program) because of copyright worries.
To get around the problem, delete the Registry key listed in the link (near the bottom of the page)..

Onekey Recovery ISO file failure

Hi, I wonder if you can help.

I have a freesh install of Windows Vista Home Premium x86 running on a HP laptop with a 160Gb HDD. This is set up currently with 120Gb allocated and 40Gb unallocated.

I have installed Onekey Recovery 1.2 and am trying to run the Onekey System Backup for the first time.

When I press the system backup button, i choose the option to back up to AOMEI Recovery Partition, then next.

I get a screen telling me to preview and confirm changes, Onekey wants to create a 12.46Gb partition. I click "start backup"

I then see a progress bar - this goes to 25% - marking system partition. Then Creating Windows PE. It goes to 36%, then 42%, then 100% with the message "Creating ISO file failed". I have reinstalled the application numerous times, and I always get the same error.

What am I doing wrong? Do you need any more information to be able to help me?

Thanks in advance,

Darren

System-backup with dual-boot

Hello everybody,

I´ve got a question concerning system backup of a dual-boot system.

Currently I´ve got WIN 8.1 home (64bit) installed on my computer. I´m
thinking of changing that to a dual-boot system (WIN 8.1 + Ubuntu) on
the same disk (HDD). On different partitions of course.

Now I´m looking for a backup programme capable of creating system
backups in such a way that my two operating systems would be saved and
could easily be restored to the original state of my disk (WIN 8.1 +
Ubuntu).
Plus that backup programme should be freeware if possible.

As I am already a user of Aomei Backupper Standard (latest version) I was looking for some specifications of that programme.

I found some reference to my peculiar problem on the following page:

http://www.backup-utility.com/res/backup-windows-7-ubuntu-dual-boot-system-4348.html

In addition to that I found out that supported file systems are:

NTFS, FAT32, FAT16, EXT2, EXT3 and other file systems

Link: http://www.backup-utility.com/free-backup-software.html

As I´m planning to use Ubuntu EXT4 should be supported as well. Alas I don´t know whether this is part of "other file systems".

My question now is: would Aomei Backupper Standard be the right programme for my purposes?

Thanks a lot in advance.

Greetings and a happy New Year

Delay Issue when opening app in PEBuilder

I'm trying to get an app called DesktopOK to work in PEBuilder. When I launch DesktopOK in PEBuilder nothing happens until
about 2 minutes later then DesktopOK will load. This also happens with another app that I created in AutoPlay Media Studio. Both of these apps work just fine in a standard WinPE x86 boot.wim so I know that it's something that was added to AOMEI PEBuilder that is causing the issue. I'm just trying to figure out what so that I can remove/disable it.

Here is a screenshot of output log in Process Monitor while loading the app. You can see the two minute delay highlighted...

Like I said above, I have tested these same exact apps in a standard WinPE boot.wim and they work fine. The same boot.wim that I am using to build my PEBuilder ISO. So it's definitely something that PEBuilder is adding in somewhere that is causing the issue.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance!

Where does the "Press F11 for AOMEI OneKey Recovery" come from?

$

I'm trying to customize my OneKey install a little and I'm wondering where the "Press F11 for AOMEI OneKey Recovery" function comes from? Since this is on a UEFI system I know that it's not in a MBR BootSector like when using a traditional BIOS, so what file provides this functionality?

I noticed that OneKey creates TWO entries in the UEFI boot list. If I disable the first entry then I do not get the "Press F11" display during boot. If I disable the second one then I don't get the "Enter into AOMEI...." option in the Metro Loader anymore. So I know it must have something to do with that first entry but I'm just not sure what.

Any ideas?
