As the title says, I accidently cloned a HDD onto the wrong destination drive, which obviously formatted my hdd and caused me to lose all data, is there anyway that I can undo this process? Or is my data gone for good and there's no coming back from this mistake.
Cloned onto wrong destination HDD :(
OLD PC TO NEW PC
Hello eveyone,
I need to upgrade Quickbooks on my XP machine and my XP machine is not compatible with the latest Quickbooks version... (smalll business machine) ... so here is the senario and questions....
Originating PC: Win XP Home edition with SP3, one (1) 150 GB C: IDE hard drive, NTFS formatted.
I made an Image backup on an external USB drive and I made a bootable USB thumbdrive for the WIn XP.
New PC: I want to purchase a new PC that comes with a 500 GB SATA drive and Win 8.1 pre-installed but I do NOT want Win 8.1.
I am ready to go out and buy an OEM Win 7 Premium Home 64 bit edition for the new PC.
Question: Can I install the fresh Win 7 64 bit onto the new machines C:, format the new PC's drive with the new Win 7 64 bit OS then take the external USB drive that contains the Image from the old PC, connect it to the new PC and also take the bootable USB thumb drive that I made and connect it as well to the new machine and basically make the new machine a Win 7 machine the same as the old one with an image restoral?
(I want to keep the "Compatibility Mode" of WIN 7 because of the applications and files that I have from the old Win XP machine.)
If this won't work, can you please advise me on what will work if anything?
Many thanks in advance!!

Cloned Windows to SSD, but not booting?
Hi guys,
I have a 256 GB Transcend MTS600 M.2 NGFF SSD. Along with this, I'm using a USB 3.0 SSD enclosure from MyDigitalSSD to allow me to swap things out and have a portable drive (and because my laptop doesn't have a port for SSDs, despite being relatively new and expensive).
I managed to clone Windows 8.1 to the SSD with AOMEI Partition Assistant. Worked great.
In order to get the USB adapter to be recognized by the BIOS boot manager, I had to disable UEFI/enable legacy support, no problem. Now that I can get the device recognized, I'm good to go, right? Nope. When I select the device, all I get is a black screen with a flashing underscore (basically a non-usable terminal screen).
What have I done wrong? Do I need to wipe my other drive, disable it, what...? I simply do not understand why this does not work. The SSD is formatted as a primary drive in NTFS (MBR), and the HDD is formatted in NTFS as a primary drive as well (GPT).
Computer is an HP Envy 17t-k000 laptop with an i7 4510U, GTX 850, and a Hitachi 1 TB hard drive.
Thanks.
Error code 4102
Hi There,
I am new to Aomei Backupper Standard and I did a Disk Backup of my windows 8.1 machine to an image file on an external hard drive. I let it run overnight and selected the check box to "check the disk?" and " shut down the computer" after the process had finished. The next morning the computer had shut down and everything seemed to have completed correctly but I thought I'd "check the image" once again using the Utilities tab. The process goes through to 100% and then gives me information code:4102 failed to read file. I have tried repeating this a few times with the same result. Does anyone have experience with this problem or have some tips on resolving it?
Thanks,
Don.
How do I get AOMEI Backupper to remember where back is
I create back ups (one data, one system)
These take place happily and can be seen on my networked drives ...
Next time I load AMOEI Backupper, in home screen I can see dates of
previous backup, yet when I choose incremental it starts then fails ...
Checking volumes...
Backing up the information of storage device...
Backing up of the volume 0 (D:)...
Backing up data...
Information Code:4101
Failed to create file.
If I then browse to backups and try again, I have been able to get it to work.
It appears to me that it is simply failing to go to correct drive, is there a way of setting path, or getting backupper to rememeber where it put the backup?
Backups taking horrendous time - file size larger than original
W7 64 bit Ultimate AMOEI Backupper Standard 2
Backing up to ethernet connected NAS drive.
I created a backup of a partition, (383 GB) ... was amazed that it took more than 10 Hrs. and the backup file was actually 6GB larger at 389 GB .... thought the backup would at least be compressed.
Then on next back up - tried incremental backup ... expected that it would be much faster, as it only had to copy across the difference .... it took more than 10 Hrs and back up file again 5 GB larger than original.
Unless I am missing something, I would be better to simply drag the contents of partition to my external drive
# It would be mush faster
# Resulting file size would be no larger
# Due to file sizes saving multiple backups is impossible
It seems using Backupper has gained me nothing, am I doing something wrong ?
All settings are default.
It is set to 'normal' compression - (yet actually makes files larger)
Partition Assistant : Hide/Unhide Partition doesn't work properly
I noticed that when I use Partition Assistant (v5.x) that it doesn't allow me to hide/unhide any partition I want. This is obviously a bug (a user should be able to hide/unhide any partition he/she chooses to hide/unhide), so can this annoyance be corrected in the next release, please ?
"Universal Restore"
Does the current version of Backupper support anything like Acronis 2015 newly touted Universal Restore? (I'm not sure the difference, but I guess it is more advanced than a restore to "dissimilar hardware". If not currently, will future versions include this? Thanks.
hard drive partitions
recently had to redo /reload hard drive after win 8.1 crashed- hp envy with amd a10- 750 gb hd 16gb mem. after reload and reinstall hard drive was only showing 250 gb available- used iomei ver 5 partion and extended c drive - was ok for a while now c drive shows 38 gb free of 698gb and 3 other drives are showing up? do not understand waht is happening?
Backupper Pro v2.0.2 : missing partitions on PC with multiple OS's installed
Backupper Pro (v2.0.2) only lists 1 system/OS partition in the Backup > System Backup list in (Step1), even when you have multiple OS's installed on the disk...
Shouldn't ALL the system/OS partitions be listed there so that you can select which system/OS you want to backup ???
Error 4105 'Not enough memory to process this command"
Receiving the 4105 error during backup at around the 85% complete level. It's a relatively new install of Windows Server 2008 (2 weeks ago). The C-drive backs up fine, the error occurs on the RAID 5 D-drive (6 TB, <100 GB in use. Chkdsk was clean on both drives. The machine has 32 GB of memory, and no other programs were using it other than Backupper and Windows (almost all was free). What should I do?
confused
I have read the documentation and it is quite good. However I have not been able to determine what the difference is between Disk Copy and File copy. It appears that seperate files can only be restored from a File Copy. My problem is that the program suggests to use a Partition Copy instead. Does the Partition Copy restore individual Folders? Yes I am new to this, and confused :-)
USB error
Here's the error:
Failed to create a bootable USB drive or disk directly, You could see FAQ to resolve the problem.
I've
rebooted and run it with an administrator. I'm running Vista with
windows AIK installed. So now I can make a windows boot disk with
windows PE.
This also appears when trying to make a image (.ISO file).

Backupper since v2.0.2 NOT portable any more?
When I install Backupper for Win 7/8 on an USB Stick then Backupper.exe is NOT startable any more in v2.0.2.
An error popup appears:
"The program can't start because FuncLogic.dll is missing from your computer"
Hmm, v2.0.1 WAS portable this way!!
So can someone confirm that the functionality has changed in v2.0.2
Feature request to the developers: Please make Backupper portable again

PC Wont Boot after AOMEI Partition - Blank Screen!
HELP!
I have a brand new Dell PC. I have partitioned the hard drive using Aomei it seemed to work, then restarted and all i get is a blank screen.
I have managed to get into BIOS and change the boot order to boot a USB stick i had Windows 8 backed up on (not from this PC), but all the repair options fail.
I am reluctant to reinstall windows fully as i have a feeling it wont solve it.
Need to get onto my PC asap, please can anyone advise?
Hard drive not showing up in MyPc but is listed as Disk 1, how do i setup recovery partition
Im not sure how to make this any simpler, my prior post have been unresolved, same issue. I installed Win 8.1 now I only show a C:drive, in disk mgr. I want to now how to repartition and recover my D: drive (recovery). I scanned recovery; I partition and D: show up as Disk 1, not sure how to follow through on wizard to reenable /remount my internal Hard drive to my pc. Do i split my partition that contains OS and system recovery and make a new partition. I'm confused myself so not sure how else to address this. Prior snapshots did not make things any clearer so i'm still hanging for someone to provide sufficient detailed instructions on how to recover my D: recovery drive.
