I have backup images all over the place , I am trying to get them organized. However, if I click on an adi file and open Aomei Backupper to mount the image, it will ask if I want to view the differential or full. If I explore the differential will it also include the full, likewise if I view the full will it include the differential? I mean mounted together as a single drive letter?

Updating Backupper from 5.6 to 5.7 causes problem with Adobe Reader DC and AOMEI User Manual
I clean installed W10 earlier in the year and installed version 5.6 (then current version) of Backupper Professional. All was good.
When updating version 5.6 to 5.7 a curious issue arises. The installed PDF User Manual for Backupper is no longer reachable via the AOMEI interface. Having clicked 'User Manual' it is then apparent that this operation partly initiates Adobe Reader DC (it can be seen running in task manager) however Adobe will not from that point on open any PDF from any source.
The only way back from this is either a reboot or to terminate Adobe in Task Manager. Having done this Adobe operates normally for all pdf's excluding the link from AOMEI interface.
The user manual pdf located in program files for AOMEI opens normally if accessed directly from program files so it is not itself corrupt.
As confirmation of this issue I restored back to a disk image where 5.6 was still installed. All worked OK once again. I tried updating this with a fresh copy of version 5.7 and again the same problem. The 'User Manual' link breaks Adobe Reader DC.

Problem restore using v5.7
Backup my Win10 using version 5.7 of the software. However, when I try to restore back the image, I noticed the Win10 comes with many extra partitions. The usual one is only 3 IIRC. When reboot, I get a system error and just stuck there.
Anyone having the same problem?

Backupper does not run, keeps starting then stopping

AOMEIBackupperStd.exe, downloaded and installed 03/06/20
Start Backupper program via desktop icon.
Nothing is displayed on screen.
Task Manager shows the Backupper Schedule Task Service running, then status changes to Suspended. The task then dies. It re-starts, 'Suspended', then dies again. That sequence repeats constantly.
I cannot permanently kill the process in Task Manager, it just keeps re-starting and failing.
Screenshot of application log directory attached. A new ABServiceXYZ.txt file is created every 4 seconds.
Sample files attached, plus other logs. They are all the same apart from the timestamp.
I cannot permanently kill the process in Task Manager, it keeps re-starting and failing.
The only way to kill the process is to uninstall the product.
Can you identify the problem and advise how to solve it?

Partition Assistant without admin rights
Hi forum,
Aomei says here:
"You have no need to be an administrator so that you can use AOMEI Partition Assistant on your computer"
I tried Partition Assistant on a computer where I have no admin rights, but it requests admin rights as soon as I start it.
Please advise.
Thank you

System Backup vs. Disk Backup ?
If there is only a single partition on the boot or C: drive and programs & everything else are also on it, does a System Backup image everything, or does it somehow ignore the programs? If it backs up everything, then is there any reason to choose a Disk Backup vs. a System Backup? IOW would one be faster than the other? Or would one use less backup disc space than the other?
Also the Help Guides state with a Disk Backup “after restoring it, the system can boot normally.” However it doesn’t say you can boot normally after restoring a System Backup. But can you?
Thanks for any information,

PEBuilder screen resolution in PE boot
I use pebuilder 2.0 to make 32- and 64-bit ISOs with the Win/10-based
creating environment downloaded. I then add these ISOs to a USB key
created with easy2boot and test with two UEFI-only laptops.
On my 64-bit laptop, WinPE comes up with 800x600 resolution (native
is 1920x1080) and no way to change it. That would be ok for some
maintenance tasks one might do from a PE boot, but Backupper 5.7 does
not adapt to the small screen. The main window is bigger than the
screen but can be moved around. But if I select options, buttons to
close are off-screen and there's no escape. The option "Enable
program window self-adaptive to screen resolution and DPI settings"
that I see running Backupper on my desktop is not present in WinPE.
Adding what drivers I could find at ASUS didn't help, and I see no
relevant BIOS options.
Fedora 32 KDE spin from USB key gets native resolution on the same laptop.
On a 32-bit laptop, WinPE comes up with the native 1368x768 resolution.
Any suggestions for either increasing the resolution or making Backupper fit on a small screen?
Thanks.

Want a Full Backup but get a Differential
I would never buy the software again because it is not stable - a no go for a Server Backup!
But I found out it is "a bit more" stable when I leave the program open.
Anyway now I have to life with it and hope it is getting better.
I still have some questions:
1) I tried to make a "Full Backup Task" but all I get is a Differential Backup?? Any idea???
2) Is it possible to make a "Clone task"??
Thank ou in advance

Backupper Pro amwrtdrv.sys causes system crash
I've been experiencing frequent systems crashes when Backupper Pro starts (and sometimes just after it finishes).
I'm using Backupper Pro 4.6.2 with Windows 10 Pro 1809 at current service level (KB4489899)
I have a Partition Incremental backup scheduled for 04:35 every day, using the AOMEI scheduler service.
Every other day a system crash, followed by reboot, occurs just after the backup starts, and the backup never completes. I suspect that the first backup after a reboot works, but subsequent backups fail, although I haven't had a chance to test this theory.
The WhoCrashed utility reports this crash is caused by the amwrtdrv.sys driver, shown below:
On Sat 23/03/2019 04:36:10 your computer crashed or a problem was reported
crash dump file: C:\WINDOWS\MEMORY.DMP
This was probably caused by the following module: amwrtdrv.sys (amwrtdrv+0x14D2)
Bugcheck code: 0xA (0x138, 0x2, 0x0, 0xFFFFF80058C9CB7A)
Error: IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
file path: C:\WINDOWS\system32\amwrtdrv.sys
I tried using the Windows Task Scheduler to run the daily backup and interestingly the backup completed successfully, but was followed immediately by a similar amwrtdrv.sys crash and reboot.
Possibly not related, but I notice that the two versions of amwrtdrv.sys on my system have a slight difference. Both have a Created/Accessed date of 23 February 2019 (when I installed 4.6.2) and both have a Modified date of 01 September 2017.
But C:\Windows\System32\amwrtdrv.sys is 38,320 bytes
Whereas C:\Program FIles (x86)\AOMEI Backupper\driver\i386\amwrtdrv.sys is 34,864 bytes
Any, positive, suggestions?

Problem with AOMEI Backupper 5.8 & W10 Pro 2004
Upgraded my system a week ago to W10 2004 and every thing seems to be good. This past weekend I noticed that Backupper Pro had an update to 5.8. I installed it on my Virtual W10(2004) test system and all seemed ok, so installed upgraded the REAL SYSTEM. Noticed "SHUTDOWN" and "RESTART" times exceeded 30sec (Normally less than 12sed) and also noticed that in my event viewer, there was a new entry concerning the shutdown of "AOMEI Backupper Scheduled Task Service" problem shutting down:

After disabling this task, the system "RESTARTS" and "SHUTDOWNS" in less than 12 sec.
Please have AOMEI Tech support guys look into this problem.
Note: AOMEI Backupper still runs with out this started task !

How should backup schemes space manage?
I have asked this as a question as I want clarification as I think my understanding of how they should work is wrong, opposed to there being something wrong with the software as I first thought, looking at the folder the backups are stored in today, I can see that some space management, must have taken place, however it does seem somewhat delayed.
My understanding from the little animation that pops up when you set up the scheme is that with the incremental backup scheme, it will create a full backup, followed by x amount of incremental backups determined by me, then another full backup after which the incrementals get deleted as the scheme starts over. However initially it makes 2 full backups, though the second one made initially does seem to have disappeared (which confuses me more as I would have thought the first one should be the one to be deleted), then does the incrementals, another full backup then starts the new incrementals, but it doesn't seem to delete the previous set of incrementals as soon the as the first new one is made. In fact it is currently on the third incremental of a new scheme and the previous set are still there. Presumably the full backups are not meant to be deleted regardless. Though I would have liked an option to delete them automatically after x amount of full backups since they obviously take the most space up. Is it ok for me to manually delete the full backups dated 08/06/2020 and 19/06/2020 since there is another full backup on 29/06/2020 and incrementals since it, or will that cock up the entire scheme?
Anyway, I guess my question is, when should the space management occur, should it not be once the new set of incrementals begin? It could be the delay is deliberate as a precaution, there simply isn't enough information on how they should work.
Pictures attached, please note the three failures on the system backups are not due to software error, apparently space is now an issue, though it would be nice if the software informed you if scheduled backups have failed, since I would not have known until I went to snapshot the logs, there is not even an indication in the backup management interface.![Image: https://www.aomeitech.com/forum/uploads/editor/tt/j0jlzd109sf9.png]()

No Notification of Backup
I have been using Backerupper Standard for some time with the application on 2 different Windows machines. Just recently, I no longer get notification when Backerupper runs. How do I get Notifications to work again?
All runs have been "Successful" on both machines.

Notifications for both machines are Enabled, and both come to the same email address.

Aomeitech vs ubackup websites ?
AOMEI appears to have two different websites, aomeitech.com and ubackup.com. The same products can be ordered from both. Is there a reason why someone should favor using one website vs the other? Are they both really the same company?

Why does an incremental system backup take so long?
I used to back up my various drives using either a disk backup or a file and folder backup. If there wasn't a lot to back up in an incremental backup, the incremental backup would be very quick. However now I have started backing up the main drive on my laptop using a system backup. Even if there is not a lot to back up since the previous backup of this drive, the incremental backup takes as long as a full backup, yet the incremental backup file it creates is small. Why are my incremental backups taking so long these days?

Restore did not work after windows 10 2004 update caused corruption
Everything was fine with my laptop until yesterday morning when I did a windows 10 2004 major update. It downloaded and installed fine but when I was then requested to restart, I could not boot into windows. It said No bootable media found. I tried everything but could not get back into windows. So I then restored from an AOMEI system backup created two days earlier. If have done restores like this many times, but here after the restore, I had the same problem. It could not find any bootable media. I would have had to resort to reinstalling windows from scratch and start all over again with my apps and files. But luckily I found an image backup on an external hard drive created via windows done a several months ago and was able to restore my computer from that image. And I was lucky to be able to bring my computer up-to-date via dropbox and other system images mounted via AOMEI.
But my main concern is why did the AOMEI restore fail? It was created successfully on 7/17. I need to have full confidence in being able to restore my system from an AOMEI backup.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Errors in a log of Partition Assistant 8.8
Hello,

Recently I've deleted an old recovery partition (Win 10 x64 2004, first partition) and merged space with the system partition.
It was almost ok, the system booted up, but asked me to scan the disk and found some errors. But after a restart it was all ok, the only file with results (file00000001.chk) was 0 bytes. I looked in the log file (C:\Windows\amlog\ampa0.log) and there were many recurring errors. Here are some of them:
Failed to open:\Device\HarddiskVolume2\boot\bcd
Failed to ZwCreateFile
Failed to GetPartitionNumber
Failed to GetVolumeDevice in MountVolumeDirectly
And here is the whole log file:
Is it normal or something went wrong?
Also the two last operations (from PreOS Mode) is not listed in the log: the moving of the system (largest) partition and merging it with the previously deleted and moved old recovery partition. So is there any log for PreOS Mode?
