Thanks for this nice program for free , I like this "AOMEI_PEBuilder_1.3"

Personally , I expect the Win7PE explorer to be :

1. Show Menu Bar (Always show Menu)

2. List View (It's very inconvenient for me to use detail view)

3. Show hidden file

I can change the above settings manually, but is there a way to change it ? Can I use UltraISO to extract the boot.wim and use :

     Dism /Mount-Wim /WimFile:C:\Win7PE\boot.wim

to mount this boot.wim , then change the registry to my above setting offline ?

I know this is the way, but I don't know about what registry line related. Also how to add registry offline !!

When I start a disk or partition backup on Windows 8, presumably files will almost always be modified while the backup process is running.  I started a backup, and confirmed that the hard drive wasn't "locked down", and Windows was still letting me write to files, so presumably all the other stuff running in the background will be modifying files too.  How does Backupper deal with this?  Will the backup contain the state of the partition or disk at the moment the backup started (ie all writes are somehow queue'd)?  Or, is it reading the disk blocks as it goes, meaning the blocks could get modified while Backupper is reading them and then on restore some files would be corrupted?

thanks for any insight...  In the past I always just booted Linux on a USB stick to backup my Windows system since I could lock the drive and use dd to duplicate the partition.  But on my new laptop I just can't get Linux to boot, so I'm trying to find an alternative to safely backup the whole partition.

Whenever I create a bootable USB with aomei backupper, my logitech m310 mouse and k520 keyboard (USB wireless combo) are not recognized. I have this behaviour in most live linux system as well, but only during boot time. Are there any parameters that can be given to the linux or pe boot medium? Or even better, any way to call the backupper from my installed linux system? Or install it to a linux partition and call it via grub? I really only use backupper for restoring windows... Using backupper version 2.1.0

Hiya Have new win 8.1 laptop used Backupper to burn 0-4 dvds (system backup), but when it asks to put "last disk" in to check it, it will not recognize it. The Dell built in backup isn't usable unless you buy it, so I downloaded this program to do the task.

Any other info you need (comp details) I can post, just not sure what exactly is needed for helping?

I've only used Gateways, this Dell was unusable out of the box, so has alot of problems.

I am looking for a perfect backup software, and I have to say that Aomei Backupper is the one I am about to choose, as it seems to work very well and doesn't seem to have any problems (or I haven't discovered them yet :) ).

However, there is one big thing that seems to be missing from Aomei Backupper: an ability to backup files and folders as they are in source disk, not compressing them to one .afi -file.

In general, I am very suspicious about backing up hundreds of files into one file that I cannot open without spesific software, in this case, Aomei Backupper. If it was zip file, or iso, for example, I would know I can open those files and see what there is inside, no matter what happens. Well, I guess I could live with .afi -format.

But, and this is the big BUT. I want to back up my files from my desktop computer to a network drive (WD My Cloud), and because I can access that drive with my mobile phone, I could (for example) browse my photos, or listen to my .mp3 files no matter where I am. My plan is that I further backup that network drive to separate USB drive every now and then for maximum safety.

But because instead of 1000 pictures, there is only one "pictures.afi" -file, I cannot browse through my photos at all.

So, I am wondering, is there any way to backup files as they are, or does AOMEI Backupper create ONLY .afi -files?

My experience of AOMEI started out as a positive one and now it is a disaster...

I have serveral servers with OpenMediaVault as the OS and have allowed read/write for everyone...

I see my network shares...no problem in Windows 7...

I create a full back up and do not receive any errors while creating....

I then run the checkup and it either returns an Error 4101 or 4104.... I have tried removing the backup and start again....still the same problem...tried reinstating the image and get errors....

There is nothing wrong with the server and I have checked the hard drives...no problems...sometimes I check the image several times and then it is happy....but not now what gives guys?

This is ridiculous and I am about to look for something that works....I have AOMEI on several computer and it has been hit and miss if it likes a created image or not....

All of my computers use multi-boot. I've been doing this for a very long time.  However, Microsoft seems to have redesigned the boot process (starting with Windows Vista) such that my techniques no longer work.  Therefore, I need some new tools and this is what lead me to AOMEI and this website.

The operating systems I'm using include Windows (2000, XP, 7) and Linux (Debian, Ubuntu).  Hard drive configurations are constantly changing and most of my computers have several of them.  Windows disk management is not capable of the kind of partition management that I need.  A basic capability that I need is to be able to both re-size and relocate the partition which contains the OS.  This could include relocating to a different drive.  My techniques work fine for everything but W7.

Therefore, my question is, “can AOMEI Partition Assistant relocate a partition used to run W7?”.

The problem is complicated by the Windows design change which seems to prefer using a different partition to boot the computer than the one in which W7 resides.  However, I have obtained advice on how to install
Windows into a single partition that is able to boot itself, which is
the only design which makes sense in my environment.

Hi, I recently installed Aomei PA Standard Edition 5.6 in my computer. Aomei PA identified all the partitions as unformatted. However, if I right clicked on the partitions in the Windows Explorer and view on the Properties, it is indicated as NTFS. I'm unable to do any resizing and merging unless Aomei PA can identify the partitions as NTFS or worst, format all the partitions. Please advise.

I'm using PE Builder 1.4 on Windows 2008R2 SP1.

When I'm creating the PE image I add the Win2k8R2 drivers for my RAID device then create the ISO.  When I boot from the ISO Windows is unable to talk to the PERC controller and Device Manager shows the driver isn't loaded.  If I try to install the driver, Windows wants to reboot.  So I know the driver is the right one but obviously rebooting is pointless.

What might cause a driver to not load properly?  This is the latest version from Dell's website and it's a native Win2k8R2 driver.

The other day something went horribly wrong with my system and it would no longer boot.  I had just done a full backup of System and separately my other 2 data partitions.  I first tried to restore the System backup on my regular HD that I backed up but I then got the dreaded "Please select bootable media..." message.  I verified that the BIOS was booting the correct drive and I also disconnected all other drives just in case.  Nothing I did could get the HD to boot.

I cannot do a Windows 7 repair because the install DVD I have says it won't work for the version of Windows 7 I have installed on the partition.  I can resintall from scratch.

I had a 2nd drive that I was previously using for backups that is exactly the same as the normal HD so I tried doing a restore to it and it also won't boot, giving the same "Please select bootable media...".  I tried clearing all partitions and letting AOMEI create them.  I created them myself and restored, no help.  I also resinstalled Windows 7 on that spare drive just to prove it will boot and the MB wasn't broken and it did boot just fine.  I tried a simple disk restore of the C drive after Windows 7 install since AOMEI complained there were too many primary partitions to do a System restore even though it was exactly the same as my regular HD and it didn't complain about that one having too many primary partitions to restore the System.  I had hoped it wouldn't mess up the now bootable HD but after restore it again became unbootable.

Nothing I have tried has worked to restore my system back to normal.  Can AOMEI restore a Windows bootable system or is it just for data backup?  I haven't lost any data but I really don't want to have to reinstall Windows 7.

Edit - I forgot to add that since I cannot boot my HD, I am using the WinPE program from this site to boot my computer and run AOMEI to restore the system.

I'm looking at using the freeware edition of Backupper and I just wanted confirmation that the freeware licence extends to commercial use.

The listing at this page (where I discovered backupper) suggests it does, but I cannot find any confirmation of this on the aomeitech website, or within any screen of the software itself.

I am running Windows 8.1 (x64) and tried building a boot CD using v1.4 of the PE Builder. The Builder appeared to function properly and built the ISO. I then burned the ISO to a CD and tried to boot from it.

Unfortunately, the CD did not boot properly; I wound up at a screen with an error code displayed and then, after several seconds, my machine powered down completedly (as in it shut off).  Any idea what might have happened? There are quite a few others who have tried to boot from a CD or USB flash drive without success after building an ISO with v1.4 of the Builder. Thanks!

I have tried this 5 different times now.  I set a schedule to perform a disk image on a daily basis (Incremental).  After two successful executions, the image fails every time after that.  I receive a 4101 error.  Aslo if I tell AOMEI to check the backup, it tells me it is "Unabe to get the backup information because the image file does not exist. or can not be accessed, or has been damaged".

The image is being backed up to a NAS via Mapped Network Drive.

I have written twice to AOMEI support but have got no answer for 3 days.Which is bad, when peole experience a big problem.

I am using the paid PRO version and use the backup which goes without error. But when I try to RESTORE the computer stops dead in its tracks. Gives an error : "Status 0x0000225. Boot selection failed to start because a required device is un-accessible". Makes no snse at all since all worked fine beofre AOMEI. I am using a fast Lenovo laptop, 8 GB of RAM, 128 GB SSD, Windows 7, SP2. Original Windows 7 Install disk did not get my computer working again. Hat to use a created emergency disk and finally got the computer back. But RESTORE did not work. Have tried it 2 times at different times. Both times a great problem as stated above.
