How to make copied HD to start system as the C: drive?

$

I have Windows 10 Pro installed on a 5400 RPM HD and wanted to move it to a 7200 RPM HD. I used AOMEI Partition Assistant Standard Edition 7.1 to make a copy and now I have the following:

System (C:)
Copy of C (D:)
BD-RE Drive (E:)
Data (F:)

The drive named Copy of C (D:) is the one with the 7200 RPM speed. So the copy process apparently was successful. But how can I make this copied HD to start system as the C: drive?

If that's possible, I expect to have the 7200 RPM HD running the OS and programs and then make the old C: (with another letter) set for backups.

The Data (F:) is used to save downloads in general, videos, images, etc.

Can I use AOMEI Partition Assistant Standard Edition 7.1 to make this crucial change? How? TIA.

WIN10 restore from DiskCopy image erroneously labels System partition C

When I use a Disk Copy image to restore a WIN 10 disk, Backupper always, and erroneously, labels the small System partition "C" and then the main WIN10 partition "D". I know that this is a well-documented AOMEI bug (why can't they fix it?) and AOMEI Partition Assistant can be used to un-label the System partition. However, Partition Assistant cannot then be used to re-label the WIN 10 partition from "D" to "C" - this is grayed out in the menus. This can be fixed by using Diskpart from the Command prompt to re-label "D" to "C", but why cannot Partition Assistant do this? These are two bugs that AOMEI really should get around to fixing.

SSD doesn't show up when I try to "Migrate OS to SSD"

I recently upgraded my computer with a new motherboard, CPU, and RAM, and now the computer doesn't manually boot to the SSD anymore. BIOS didn't allow me to boot automatically from it, so I tried migrating the OS to the SSD via AOMEI, but it doesn't show up.

It's hard to search this particular issue. Disk 3 is the SSD, and as you can see it isn't showing up in the smaller window.

Please help me.

Thank you.

Backupper clone discs fail

I was using Backupper free edition to clone a hard drive, I had a 300 GB hard drive that I was trying to clone to a 2 TB hard drive. As the process was going it gave me a fail code 209 and rendered both drives unusable! Looking at the disk management properties both drives show "unallocated space" And I need to get the 300 GB drive back because that has all my documents and information on it.

I don't know if doing a partition recovery would help it out, I did do a CHKDSK on it and it found just a couple of bad sectors. So my question is, what do I do now?

Bug: Disk Backupper Freezes the System

Hi,
my system freezes completely while trying to make disc image backups from my system drive (full backup).
I use Windows 10 x64 on a lenovo ThinkPad T540p, and a Samsung SSD with basic disc layout.
The Problem is independent of using VSS or AOMEIs own alternative.
Backupper writes around 25 MB to the external (USB3) hard drive, and according to Windows Resource Monitor it reads a lot of data with maximum speed from system-ssd, but don't write anything to the target drive. After some minutes Backuper stops reading from source-ssd. The system drive is somehow completely locked for any writes, but system tasks reads data from the disc. Because of the ongoing write lock the system freezes and i need to make a hard reset. I am somehow perplexed.

Thank you for any help.

I cant migrate windows 7 to a 240 GB SSD

So I'm using your partition software trying to migrate windows 7 to my new SSD. I follow the steps, too easy, but then get to the point where it says to check the box to delete all partitions and it says that I haven't allocated enough space and i need at least 706 GB. All the tutorial videos I've watched have people migrating windows 7 to even smaller drives. Windows is less than 60 GB in size so why am I getting this error and how do I fix it? All I want to do is migrate my OS and only my OS and slave my HDD I am not trying to clone my entire drive. Please and thank you.

Disk space management scheme deleting old, but recent old backups

Aomei,

Is not the correct disk space management scheme deleting older backups, but not recent backups?

Does any other user have this same behavior?

Incremental backups are the same size as a full backup

I have the pro version. I am backing up a HDD which has 1.3TB of data to a NAS. I have scheduled weekly incremental backup. The full backup is 1.3TB and took 30 hours. Each subsequent incremental backup is also 1.3TB and takes 30 hours. Surely the incremental backup should be small and quick. My NAS is almost full after 3 weeks. Please advise

Invalid Image File

Backupper fails to recognize its own backups.  "This file may be not complete or has been damaged, or it does not match with the current software version."  The adi file was made just an hour ago.  Backupper doesn't recognize ANY of my system backups.

Backupper used to work fine.  Now you've "upgraded" it and broken it.  This is NOT what I paid for!

ABNotify.exe

Every time I boot my computer, Security Task Manager (a watchdog program) gives me a notice about a program trying to change my registry.  Specifically, something is trying to change my registry for ABNotify.exe.

Why haven't you made that registry change when Backupper was installed?  Why are you trying to change my registry on boot up?  It's a real PITA.

What is the first thing comes to your mind when you see AOMEI?

Missing icon

I had the Standard (Free) Backupper installed and the desktop shortcut on Win 7 showed the backup.exe icon.

I decided to change to Professional and downloaded the free trial to test it out. But that installation does not show the Backupper icon but just the generic Windows icon for an exe file! I tried using the shortcut properties "change icon" and selected the Backupper icon to be used. The win icon did not change.

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Backupper (ABPro.exe) and af ter restarting, it STILL only shows the win exe type icon on the shortcut. Even deleting the shortcut icons and sending a new one to the desktop did not have the Backupper icon showing.

Any ideas?

Windows will not boot after partition shrink

I ran the Partition Assistant to shrink the windows 7 partition.  It rebooted into PreOS mode and did its thing.  However,it got stuck at the very end and said that if it didn’t reboot on its own after a minute then restart manually.

I restarted manually and then it tried to boot into windows and then said it couldn’t startup and it ran the Windows Startup-Repair. The startup-repair failed and now windows will not boot.  It starts to boot, shows the Windows logo and then crashes and restarts.

Is it possible to reverse the process?  If I resize the partition back to the way it was, will it fix the issue?  Or have I  ruined the Windows partition?

I have done this procedure before various times with no problems.  Becuase I have done this various times on multiple systems, I didn't bother to backup the HD before doing this.  The classic blunder.... the one time I don't back it up is the one time the procedure fails.

Any advice?
