No Backup Scheme tab in AOMEI Backupper Professional ver 3.1

Back up resored folder is empty

Hello
When I restore the back up folder to my desktop, the process goes well with a the project Progress bar working fine.

As soon as the restore progress is finished,
"File restore initializing...

Calculating the total number of the files...

File restoring...

The operation has been completed successfully."

I browse the folder and it is empty.
Do I have to do a different way?

Thanks in advance.
Dimitri

Global Setting?

Great product by the way.  Few things I can't seem to find out on. I use a flash drive to boot up backup & restore.

1. How do I save global settings like compression high.  The checkbox on that screen doesn't actually save it.

2. How do I save a NAS connection to a network share so I don't have to enter it everytime.

Thanks,

Shawn

My task manager tells me that AOMEI Backupper (32 Bit) is running. My OS is Windows 10 (64 Bit), however. I would appreciate any comments on that.

Cant clone my HDD from an LSI Raid 5 with 4 HDD´s

I have a big bad issue in my office. I bought the AOMEI Backupper Server and i try to clone my complete Server. It has 5 drives in one LSI Raid 5 System. When i try to clone the whole system, i cant see the drives. I only can see my Backup Drive, thats an RDX tape. I cant see only one of my System drives. The same, if i try the System Clone. I can only see my Raid Drives, when i make a Parition Clone, buts thats senseless for me and not what i need.

What can i do now? I am in big trouble if i cant clone the System!

Accidental data loss...

I am new to Partition Assistant and recently converted a Win7 OS SSD from GPT to MBR. However, I didn't realize that it would create an Unallocated disc in the process!!? There was no warning given that data would be lost. Probably everyone assumes that already, but I didn't realize it. So is there any way to get the data back, or "undo" the MBR conversion?

Thank You.

Best Way to backup two disks / exclude folders from Disk Backup

$

My system has two drives, C: a SSD drive with the OS and other programs, and D: a larger separate HD for mostly data.

To back up both, if I understand correctly, I have to use System Backup to get the C: drive, and a Disk Backup for the D: drive.

Assuming this is the most efficient way to do this, is there a way for me to backup all of D: but exclude 3 large folders? This is with the Standard version of the software under Window 10 Pro.

Thank you.

I have VM that I need to resize the C volume.  I have a F: volume and I have added more space to overal partition but how can I increase C: volume when I don't have available space next to it?    I tried to move f: but of course don't have the space to do that.  Is this possible with this software?

I'm getting an error when trying to run Aomei Backupper version 4.05 (or 4.04) on a Windows Server 2012 R2.  The problem event name is BEX referencing Backupper.exe and the fault module name is MSVCR80.dll.  I've rebooted several times but Aomei will not run.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Backupper "portable" and 64bit PE files

$

I like Aomei Backupper a lot, thanks for this great program.

I like to run it on my own custom PE, if I put the service settings in boot.wim beforehand, and add AmCore.dll to the program files, the program almost runs like a "portable app". Of course, most other disk imagers are portable as well, so there's no reason Aomei couldn't be portable, too.

I have even "discovered" a way to make the *32* bit program files *fully* portable. For this, on an unmodified, standard PE, I copy 3 files to "windows\system32" (ambakdrv.sys, amwrtdrv.sys, ammntdrv.sys), then start "loaddrv.exe". After this, I can run Backupper.exe and it runs perfectly. This works in 32bit and 64bit PE (both use different sys and loaddrv files, obviously). I would like this opportunity to request once again that the "AmCore.dll" dependency be removed, why does a free product check for a license? But that is not the real issue of this question.

My main question is: How can I use the *64* bit Aomei program files (located in the WinPE64 subfolder), using the same method described above? I have this tested and working by using the "builder script" method (that is: insert the sys files "offline" into boot.wim and set the service entries in the registry). Again, using this method the 64bit program files are working fine.

I would, however, like to know why the "on demand" method describe above, doesn't work with the **64bit program files**. Here's what I've tried:

[A] (1) Boot a clean 64bit PE (2) Copy the 3 64bit sys files to Windows\system32 (3) Run the 64bit Loaddrv.exe --> Backupper will run, but can't backup dus to driver error.

[B] (1) Boot a clean 64bit PE (2) Copy 3 64bit sys files (3) Set the service settings by hand:

Reg.exe add "HKLM\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Class\{71a27cdd-812a-11d0-bec7-08002be2092f}" /v "UpperFilters" /t REG_MULTI_SZ /d "ambakdrv" /f
Reg.exe add "HKLM\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Services\ambakdrv" /v "DisplayName" /t REG_SZ /d "ambakdrv" /f
Reg.exe add "HKLM\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Services\ambakdrv" /v "ErrorControl" /t REG_DWORD /d "0" /f
Reg.exe add "HKLM\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Services\ambakdrv" /v "ImagePath" /t REG_EXPAND_SZ /d "\??\X:\windows\system32\ambakdrv.sys" /f
Reg.exe add "HKLM\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Services\ambakdrv" /v "Start" /t REG_DWORD /d "2" /f
Reg.exe add "HKLM\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Services\ambakdrv" /v "Type" /t REG_DWORD /d "1" /f

sc create ambakdrv  type= kernel start= auto binpath= "system32\ambakdrv.sys"
net start ambakdrv

This doesn't work either. Can you please look in to this matter and tell us how we can use the 64bit program files in a "clean" 64bit PE. The method works fine for 32bit program files, so I think it could work. The 64bit program files are there for a reason, aren't they? So why not explain how to use them in this (portable/ on demenad) manner. Also, please remove the AmCore.dll dependency. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Backupper Create Bootable Media and large USB drive

I have a couple of USB drives with a capacity of 8 TB. When I try to create a Windows PE bootdisk from within Backupper, everything seems to work ok. No errors. But the USB drive in question remains empty and as such, a pc won't boot from it. So I created an ISO file and tried Rufus to create a bootdisk. Same story, everything seems to work fine, and although Rufus actually writes data to the USB drive, it still can't be used to boot.

Is this due to the 'disk-larger-than-4-TB problem or is it something else?

Hello,

Is there a way I can get AOMEI to work correctly using 6.0.4 of pxelinux? 6.0.3 has an upstream bug which is affecting some model workstations I am trying to backup.

PE Boot disk

Hello,

I am currently evaluating various options for disk backup/cloning.  I have read a lot of nice things about AOMEI so I downloaded it, installed it, and was very pleased by the ease of use to create a disk backup which I stored on an external USB drive. Flawless.  Then, I went on to try and create a boot disk, for which I was planning to use a simple USB stick.  No matter what I tried, it just wouldn't work. I originally assumed it was a defective USB device, so I tried creating just an ISO file, and that's just not working.  I see the progress bar going fairly quick, and I then get the message:

Processing...

Preparing to create WinPE image.

Creating WinPE ISO image.

Create WinPE ISO image failed!

Process failed.

Note: when failed to create a bootable USB drive or disc directly, you could see FAQ to solve the problem.

I tried Legacy, I tried UEFI, with and without downloading the WinPE Creating environment, and it just fails.  I do have write access on the destination folder where I was attempting to write the ISO.

If I try to create directly on the USB stick, I get the following similar message:

Note: Do not unplug the USB device during creation.

Processing...

Preparing to create WinPE image.

Creating WinPE ISO image.

Create WinPE ISO image failed!

Process failed.

Note: when failed to create a bootable USB drive or disc directly, you could see FAQ to solve the problem.

Any suggestions?

For several editions I have suggested an update of the text source files.
Enhanced text formating, mail server compatibilily issues fix etc. Not only I suggested the changes, I also made them and uploaded them to make your job easier. Now I do it again in the hope you FINALY bundle the text file within the installer.

I am not saying that its perfect, but hey, who is, still its better then before.

Dell PowerEdge Server T610 RAID1 SAS Controller 1TB Hd to 2 TB Hd

We needed more space on drive C of Dell PowerEdge T610 Raid1 (1 TB HD).

So we bought two (2 TB Hard Drives) to replace (Drive 0 and Drive 1) in a  Raid 1 configuration.

Having not properly "Planned" this transfer we ended up copying (Drive 0) 1TB Hard Drive to the new 2TB using a regular computer. Re-installed the new 2 TB Hard Drive into Drive 0 and the server restared (SBS Windows Server 2011).

The first challenge was to increase the c Partiton with the newly found space of the 2 TB Hard Drive. We had to buy AOMEI Partition Assistant Server Edition (Order # 3ERCQLM-AEM9ZZ) July 23, 2017. This allowed us to increase the C Drive partition and all have been good.

Problem is that the server is booting to a SATA Drive (2 TB) not a RAID1 and I have the other 2TB HD in hand. When I checked Dell Configuration Utility For Dell SAS 6 v6.22.03.00 (2008.08.06)  to create a new Array R1 Volume both physical disks will need to be formatted. " All Data on volume disks will be DELETED!" is the message to create the new RAID1 Volume.

I have no problem to get another 2TB and create the new RAID1 Volume with two (2Tb Hard drives) mirrored in Drive 0 and Drive 1. However the million dollar question is how do I backup my current 2TB Sata and transfer same to the new RAID1 Volume and BOOT no problem. Which AOMEI product or products will I need to achieve this, any step by step guidance would be greatly appreciated...Client also operated 365 Days for the year so my window to work is 8:00pm to 8:00am ?

So I have to plan same very carefully and execute deliberately...

Kindly email me at chinmook@yahoo.com so I can move quickly to get my clients back to original state...
