Source drive changed

Hey guys,

I have the following problem: I've installed another computer and have transfered all the physical disks to this new PC. 

I also had deactivated the license on the old computer, exported the settings. 
On the new computer I've installed Backupper Pro, activated the license and imported the settings. 

So far, so good. 

But in the settings, there are all the old drive names. 

For Example: New PC, Pictures are on Drive G: 
Old PC, Pictures were on Drive Q:


How can I change the settings in Backupper Pro? 
I can access it, but cannot change the settings.

Backup Settings lost after upgrade to 4.0.3

After upgrading to 4.0.3 I've lost all my backup settings on one of my PCs. When I start AB, the home screen is empty, all jobs are gone.

Luckily I made an export of my settings a few months ago. So I imported them again, what first seemed to work. Since some jobs are scheduled, they started immediately. So far OK. But then they terminate abnormally with an error message "invalid parameter". And after that the settings are lost again and the home screen is empty again!

Please tell me how to fix this.

Backupper - Booting to ISO in VMWare Workstation

For image deployment purposes I am attempting to use Backupper to backup various Windows machines (Windows 7, 8.1, 10)  that I've created in VMWare Workstation 12 (post sysprep). 


However, I've created the Backupper WINPE environment both using the UEFI and BIOS options, and the VM never finishes booting. It just sits at the AOMEI splash screen.


 I also created the Backupper ISO in the Linux environment, but backup is not an option in that environment. Only the cloning of disks is available, which is not what i'm looking for.


Kindly advise...

Backupper Clone Too Many Fragments

System clone copies volume 1, then after copying volume 2 it goes to "analyzing partition" and fails saying there are too many fragments and the disk needs to be defragmented.


I have tried defragging the disk but I still get the same error.


Any help is appreciated.

Access Denied - Unable to Open Folder After Backup

Hello, I backed up my C drive because I needed to Reset My Computer to Factory Default. The backup went well and I am able to browse and access almost all files except one folder where all my documents are. Here is what happens when I try to access:

1. I get this message:
      "You don't currently have permission to access this folder.
      Click Continue to permanenly get access to this folder

2. I click on Continue.

3. Then I get this message:
     "You have been denied permission to access this folder."
     To gain access to this folderyou will need to use the security tab.

4. I have given myself Full Access from the security tab to everything that I can think of including of course the folder
    I need but cannot acces because obviously its an image and permission cannot be overwritten.

Any help is appreciated.

Computer Crashes/Restarts when Backupper runs as a background task

I have Backuper Pro and really like it.  I have an incremental backup defined for my PC's "C" drive.  This backup is scheduled to run once a day at 10 AM.  Every day my PC crashes/reboots at 10:02.  Hoever, if I have Backupper open as a window, everything runs without a hitch.  Has anyone else had this happen?  


The Crash dump report from "WhoCrashed" tells me:


Crash dump directory: C:\Windows\Minidump

 

Crash dumps are enabled on your computer.

Clone a Hard Drive to a Smaller SSD Not Working

Using AOMEI Backupper Profesional Edition 4.0.3. Folowing the AOMEI guide on "How to clone a hard drive to a smaller SSD". Current System Drive is a WD Blue 1Tb SATA (Used Space 39.6Gb) and trying to clone to a Samsung EVO 500Gb SDD. I have followed the guide exactly but it is not showing the option to “Align partition to optimize for SSD”, and therefore unable to click “Start Clone” to begin to clone hard drive to SSD?

Hallo Ihr Lieben! Ich hoffe es gibt auch Antworten auf Deutsch, habe nichts gefunden. Mein Englisch ist sehr schlecht.

Ich habe einen Rechner mit Windows 7, 64 bit, 9 GB Ram, Nachgelagert ein externes Festplattengehäuse mit 2x 6 TB Festplatten , auf denen bisher gesichert wurde. Bisher lief alles gut. Beim Startversuch des Backupprogrammes sagt es mir nun neuerdings immer wieder:

"Die aktuelle Version unterstützt keine portable Version. Wenn Sie eine portable Version verwenden möchten,  wählen Sie bitte Technican Plus Edition."

(The current version does notsupport portable version. If you want to use a portable version, please select Technican Plus Edition.)

Ich nutze die Professional Version. Die Änderung ist mir unerklärlich. Somit startet das Programm nicht. Spiele ich die Urversion (Version unbekannt, aus Jan.2017) wieder auf und registriere mich, läuft es einmal, dann ist Schluss. Mit dem neuesten Update genauso. Ich habe nirgendwo im Netz was gefunden. Könnt ihr mir helfen ?

How can I STOP Conversion ntfs to fat32

I am using aomei ntfs to fat32 converter Pro edition 2.

On a WD 1.5tb External My Passport 2.5" Drive.

It Contains A Lot Of Movies, Probably about 1100 .

It is NTFS.

I am Converting to Fat32, When it started I took notice as there where 6 movies that where over 4gb and Ticked Ignore, because I am not worried about loosing 6 out of 1100 movies.

It has been Running now for 14hrs and up to only 10% Total Progress.

Change Cluster Size 73%.

The BACK, NEXT and CANCEL Buttons are Grayed Out.

I Started The Conversion Yesterday at About 1.30PM.

How much longer is this process going to take and How Do I STOP it.

It Looks Very Scary to me to Just Unplug the Drive or Try to Stop it with Task Manager, I am Worried that I may Completely Corrupt it and Loose All My Movies.

I want to Stop it because I think it would be a lot faster to simply copy the movies to my PC's HDD, Format the Drive to Fat32 and Copy them Back.

My O/S is Windows Pro x64.

[Backupper] Restored drive has no access to recovery partition

I have tried twice now, and both time Backupper Standard 2.8 has lost access to the HP recovery partition. With this HP laptop one presses F11 to access Recovery, but it will not work on a disk restored from a Backupper disk image. It works perfectly on the original drive. 


In addition, I had to repair the Vista boot on the new disk. That's an annoyance, but thankfully I had a repair disk. But the loss of the recovery partition is much more significant and concerning.

Clone a drive with bad sectors?

Hello,

I downloaded AOMEI Backupper because I'm trying to clone a 500GB Win7 "C" drive to an identical 500 GB drive (both WD). Problem is the drive I'm trying to clone has bad sectors and I can't find a way to get ANY program to skip the bad sectors and clone everything else. My Win7 machine is working, and all the programs I regularly use seem to work fine, so evidently the bad sectors are on a part of the disk I never/rarely use. The disk has only 12.6GB of free space on it. After the default clone didn't work (it got to 73%), I tried the "Sector by sector clone" and received this error:

       Operation:    Partition Clone
Execution result:    Failed
      Error code:    214
      Description:    Not enough reserve space. Please make big enough available space for target partition. If you have checked the "Align partition to optimize for SSD" option, uncheck it please and try again because this option will adjust partition accordingly and may cause this error.

Can you not clone one drive to another of the exact same size?

AOMEI backup : clone system partition and BIOS boot options ?

Hi,


I have a disk1 SSD with one system partition, and a big disk2 HDD with a lot of data partition, and also a partition that I want to be a clone of my disk 1. Infact, if my disk 1 crashes one day, I want to be able to immediatly reboot on disk 2, without having to wait the restore time which can be long if I make a classical system backup.


So, for the moment, I use "clone / system clone" and it works.

The problem is that on next boot, the system boots on disk2.

I have to go manually into BIOS to make it boot on disk1 again.


My question : I suppose that during this "system clone", AOMEI Backup is modifying the BIOS boot options :  is there a way to disable this modification, so that my system still boots on disk1 after a "system clone" ?

Hi expert

I downloaded and Installed the Backupper standard edition ver 4.0.3

I have to clone my DISK with window 7 to new SSD disk using SYSTEM Clone

but this option is not enable.

Can I have e code to enble this option ?


Disk0 is 550 GB and the DISK1 is SSD (Samsung EVO is 500 HD)

Disk0 is partioned in C (bootable volume 200 GB used) and D: (data Volume 40 GB used)


Is there a way to duplicate C: to new SSD (with OS and boot record) using your SW ?

Wipe out C Drive

I want to dispose of my desk top computer and I'd like to give it away but when I try to Wipe the "C" Partition using AOEMI Partition Assistant when I highlight the C Drive, the "Wipe Partition" option is not highlighted.  Any suggestions would be helpful. Thank you.

Upgrading Primary HD to SSD, System not recognizing the SSD as bootable

I'm running Win 8.1 all current updates, on the HP ENVY TS 17 Notebook PC, 16G RAM & I7 

I using the Backupper Pro 4.0.3, it looks like it clones ok, no error. I also disable "Secure Boot"  and selected "Legancy Boot" in the Bios, It just does not recognize the SSD as bootable! Any pointer on what I may be doing incoreectly.

Side-by-Side configuration not valid

Hi All,


after installing the AOMEI Partition Assistant Standard Edition 6.3 I cannot start the program. I got the error message "This Application cannot be started because the side-by-side-configuration is invalid" (or similar, it's a translation from the original message)


After searching in the web I suppose some dll libraries from a C++ Redistribution kit are missing. I installed a bunch of them an it did not help. Which libraries you need for your software (in case this causes the issue). 

The error message in the event viewer is 

Fehler beim Generieren des Aktivierungskontextes für "C:\Program Files (x86)\AOMEI Partition Assistant Standard Edition 6.3\PartAssist.exe". Fehler in Manifest- oder Richtliniendatei "C:\Program Files (x86)\AOMEI Partition Assistant Standard Edition 6.3\Microsoft.VC80.MFC.MANIFEST" in Zeile  4. Can't Enable F11 Boot Menu

I have successfully made the recovery partition using OneKey. However, every time I try to enable the F11 menu in the settings I get this error message. I've disabled secure boot and still happens. Any ideas?

Moving and Resizing PreOS - Can I abort?

I started a move and resize operation yesterday and it appears that it will take several days to complete.  I need the server booted tomorrow.  Can I reboot it and abort the operation without losing data?  

Current status reads:  Total: 3 PCT, Current: 3 PCT, Status:20.  Can anyone tell me what these mean?  The Status is increasing 1 per hour.
