AOMEI Backupper Standard: Won't Backup in Background

Just installed a few days ago. I like the tool, but I cannot discover how to get it to backup in background, no matter what settings I choose. I have to start the application each time, at which time it proceeds to automatically backup, which is not the result I prefer.  Thanks for any help.  David
