we use AOMEI Backupper Technician 2.5 on a Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 to create backups to a remote NAS. There are 2 problems or bugs in our environment ...
1) SMTP Notification is not possible. 'Sorry, failed to send the test message' is the output. We use our own SMTP-Server on port 25 without encryption. Using telnet, I am able to send SMTP-mails to the same SMTP-server, but with AOMEI Backupper this fails? Does AOMEI need further Roles or Features on Windows Server 2008 R2 ?
2) Could you please arrange, that AOMEI tasks that are scheduled, are set to run, no matter if users are logged on or not. The tasks are always scheduled to only run, when users are logged on. That's annoying!

using Backupper Standard 2.0.2 FREE edition, how can I create a bootable image file from a bootable USB drive.
I have already used Backup >>>> "DISK OR Partition" option but the boot sector was not copied when i did restore on the different USB drive.

Hi, I backed up my folders and files to a external hd and formated my PC. After formatting my PC I then tried to restore my folders and files but I get a message saying that it is unable to get the backup information. The external drive is working and I can see the back up file.
I need to restore my folders, can anyone help ?

Just started using AOMEI Backupper. I can do an incremental/differential backup to an HD, but don't seem to have those options if the full backup is put on a DVD. Can anyone tell me why that is, or suggest what I'm doing wrong? Thanks,

Restored to wrong drive
I upgraded to the latest version a few days ago and did a system restore, which I left running while I did other things. When I returned, my original system was still intact but with various Aomei files lying around. Log files in the root of C: and 2 files, both bigger than 200mb, which i think are Aomei Backupper images created before rebooting. I couldn't figure out what had happened, so I cleaned up the drive and didn't bother trying to restore again as I had other things to do.
Today I found that the system had actually been restored to another physical 1TB drive that was nearly full, completely wiping it out. I have looked into various ways ways of recovering the data/partition, but so far it seems to be a failure.
Is there any way I can recover the original data? I realise that around 24GB of it has been written over by the system restore I did, but is it possible to recover any of the rest? As luck has it, the drive is mostly a backup drive, so I can create new backups, but there was also some stuff stored there that wasn't backed up anywhere else.

Restore - Backup List. How to remove entries?
I generally keep 2 generations of a disk backup so after creating a third I manually delete the folder on the server containing the oldest backup.
However, this doesn't appear to remove the entry from Restore - Backup List. There are entries there going back a few years but the actual backup doesn't exist.
Could you please explain how to delete these entries and how old backups should be removed so the Backup List is accurate?

VSSADMIN errors during backup
I have Win XP Pro SP3 on a Dell Optiplex 755 Dektop with 4GB RAM.
Last November, using Aomei Backupper Pro 2, I did a FULL backup (Disk Backup.adi - 85GB).
Yesterday (May 2), using Aomei Backupper Pro 2.5 (new version), I did my first INCREMENTAL backup (Disk Backup1.adi - 33GB).
HOWEVER, Event Viewer says there were two VSSADMIN errors during yesterday's INCREMENTAL backup. So maybe it's no good.
QUESTION: Is it possible to discard yesterday's INCREMENTAL backup and re-do it? So that Aomei Backupper Pro 2.5 thinks there is only the original FULL backup and NO faulty incremental backup? IMPORTANT: If I try to restore later, the discarded INCREMENTAL backup will not be there. Do you understand my question?

I copy and shared to my facebook page and when I paste the shared address as instructed( whicjh is the facebook page address the message is being posted to I guess?), I get a error message that says keyword not found. Backupper Standard 2.5 - can't get Edit Backup to respond
Hi, I've really enjoyed the simplicity of Backupper, along with its flexibility. I've been trying to add some more files to my File Backup through Home, Advanced, Edit Backup. The dropdown menu includes Edit Backup. When I click on that, it gives me Step2 with the Backup location. Butt when I click OK, nothing happens - even after a long wait. I tried this, and made my latest incremental Backup last night using 2.2. After checking the Forums, I upgraded to 2.5. But still no response. What am I doing wrong? Thanks!!

I tried to resize a C: partition on a server last night and it's down this morning because it's still at 3% total job done. It's only at 50% "Analyzing disk"
Is it possible for me to cancel the job by rebooting the server? Or will that blow it up? I had no idea it was going to take the server down for this long. At this pace it will be days and this is one of our primary email servers. Please respond ASAP!

Windows Boot Manager don't boot after disk restore from Boot media Backupper Server 2.8

I made a Disk backup and restore of a Server 2012 R2 systemfrom a HP ProLiant server with UEFI enabled. All the backup and restore processterminate correctly, but when I reboot, the Windows Boot Manage have been skip andthe system go through all the boot devices list until it reach the OS partitionand boot correctly.
Digging around Microsoft documentation about the BootManager, the output of the command bcdedit show me that there was no device assignedto the Boot Manager while there is one after the server installation (via theIntelligent Provisioning)
If I manually add the device to the boot manager, the serverboot correctly
Bcdedit /set {bootmgr} device partition=\Device\HarddiskVolume2
The boot manager partition is actually a hidden one with nodrive letter assign. Do we need to assign a drive letter to allow backuppersave information correctly? (Like the C: drive?)

But i can't use Universal Restore function (I Can't Find Check Box) (Other Function work well) On Images by 'Partition Backup' (Maybe not work on 'disk backup' image
I want to use it on All Image (Like Acronis 2014)

Thanks for the privilige of what seems or seemed to be a pretty usable product...I am no way hi tech.
1. My first attempt has been to Clone my C/: HD onto my external USB 500gb drive.
In the process this drive turned into 3 which I assume is due to automatic partitioning of the HD.
2. I assumed that by Cloning it would also incorporate my email software which I don't see.
3. I assume, from forum questions that in Cloning or Backup a Start Up file's are incorporated within the Clone or Backup and if so in view of a crash or similiar would I be able to Restore my computer by just connecting my external HD ?
You software receives great reviews but if it is out of my operative abilities how then am I able to receive its full potential ?
I am running Win7 64bit but
